Take My Hand
The Voices Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me home, help me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me home to the light
Take my hand, precious Lord
Lead me home
When my way grows weary
Precious Lord, linger near
When my light is almost gone
Hear my cry, hear my call
Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand, precious Lord
Lead me home
Lead me home (Lead me home)
Lead me home (Precious Lord)

Lead me home (Lead me home)
Lead me home

So what ?
Who cares what she wants.
Out of respect and dignity for a fellow artist, Ledisi, who performed the song in the Selma Movie playing Mahalia Jackson it was not Bey's place to $ing the song.
Simple as that.....

What's with the Caps ?
Should i be impressed ?

"The performance slot was not for Beyoncé to give up to Ledisi."
Did she even try ?

Beyoncé is like a breath of fresh air, after you've been drowning for so long....

The decision from Beyoncé to perform this song, instead of her own songs, shows how great and what an amazing artist she is. What I realised from some comments of people who didn't like this performance is that people will never be 100% happy. It's not good when she's sexy, it's not good when she's calm like this... There is always someone who doesn't like something, so why even bother understanding people anymore. Beyoncé will continue to inspire us who wanna be inspired by her. Can't wait to see what she does next!
LOVE FROM CROATIA, you are a Queen! :)

excellent point. I read comments all day about her being too sexual and needing to "cover up." But she does a complete 180 and folks are talking about "what is she doing singing gospel?" She literally can't win. That's why I hope she's just doing what SHE wants and what makes HER happy.

This has nothing to do with Beyonce being amazing. This is not a calm performance; she is still trying to be sexy. Beyonce asked John and Common to allow her to perform. She attached herself to this performance because she know all the hype around the movie and song, and wanted to get in on the good.

NotyNoty where do you see "sexy?" Please. You're the type who will only always see bad when it comes to Beyonce. Here you are attaching all sorts of motivations and intentions on a person you don't even know. For as big as the movie is it ain't breaking box office records. It got just two Oscar noms and most folks still don't know the name of the lead characters. So basically, however big the movie is, Beyonce is still bigger. What would she gain by attaching herself to the film? Maybe the chick gives a damn about stuff that affects her people.
