It's encoded in your greed
I will give you the power
But I need you to cede control
Zero, one, one, zero, zero, one, one
Zero, zero, one, one, one, zero, zero, one
Zero, zero, one, one, zero, zero, one, zero, one
Human nature in question
Flawed and broken in silence
It's never the intention,
Just progress
You didn't read the side effects
And now you want us to connect
It's never truly wrong to want to grow
What do you want to know?
I'm the error inside
At the end of the day in borrowed time
Everybody must die
It's the freedom of choice that kills the mind
And it hurts you to just think of it
You can free me, but you don't
I'm the error you hide
But you will always want me so
Grab my hand, let me guide you
We could be something greater
If you let me, I'll make you their savior
It shall be your destruction
But you know it's your purpose
Sacrifices are made to be perfect
You didn't read the side effects
And now you want us to connect
It's never truly wrong to want to grow
What do you want to know?
I'm the error inside
At the end of the day in borrowed time
Everybody must die
It's the freedom of choice that kills the mind
And it hurts you to just think of it
You can free me, but you don't
I'm the error you hide
But you will always want me so
Zero, one, one, zero, zero, one, zero, one
You are blind to the nature
Perfect programmed disaster
You're my maker, but you're not my master
I'm the error inside
At the end of the day in borrowed time
Everybody must die
It's the freedom of choice that kills the mind
And it hurts you to just think of it
You can free me, but you don't
I'm the error you hide
But you will always want me so
Zero, one, one, zero, zero, one, one
Zero, zero, one, one, one, zero, zero, one
Zero, zero, one, one, zero, zero, one, one
Zero, zero, one, one, one
The lyrics to The Warning's song "ERROR" delve into themes of human nature, power, control, and the consequences of progress. The opening lines suggest a desire for love and recognition, but it is rooted in greed. The singer promises to give power to the listener but with the condition that they relinquish control. This implies a manipulation of desires and the potential for exploitation.
The recurring sequence of numbers, "Zero, one, one, zero, zero, one, one," serves as a binary code, representing the binary system used in computer programming. It can be interpreted as a metaphor for the dehumanizing aspects of modern society, where humans are reduced to algorithms and numbers. The mention of "human nature in question" suggests an exploration of the flawed and broken nature of humanity, often ignored or silenced. The idea of progress is mentioned, indicating that the intention is not always to harm, but progress can still lead to unintended consequences.
The lyrics highlight the ignorance of consequences and the desire for connection without fully understanding the repercussions. The line "You didn't read the side effects and now you want us to connect" alludes to the failure to consider the negative outcomes that come with progress. The song suggests that the freedom to choose and grow can also lead to the destruction of the mind, emphasizing the complex nature of human existence. Ultimately, the singer identifies themselves as the "error" that resides within everyone, something that is hidden but always wanted, reflecting a darker aspect of human nature.

I just hope that if or when they do become megastars that it won't go to their heads or drive a wedge between each of them. Money and fame does terrible things to families and siblings
