Easier said than done
Announcing your intentions
It's easier said than done
But is it better to say nothing
Than say something wrong?
When you only want someone
Announcing your intentions
It's easier said than done
Hey, you can't own me
Don't let that be a reason not to stay
Hey, you can't own me
Don't let that be a reason to run away
Announcing your intentions
It's easier said than done
The Whitest Boy Alive's song "Intentions" is a contemplative piece about communication and honesty in relationships. In the first stanza, the singer notes that it is often difficult to express one's intentions to another person, as it is easier said than done. However, remaining silent may also have negative consequences, as the fear of saying something wrong can lead to missed opportunities or regret. The second stanza addresses the issue of ownership in relationships, with the singer asserting that no one can entirely own or possess another person. The chorus emphasizes the difficulty of announcing one's intentions, suggesting that it is easier said than done to be honest with oneself and others.
This song highlights the challenges of communicating effectively in relationships and the importance of honest communication, even when it is difficult. The singer's vulnerability and self-reflection may resonate with listeners who have struggled with expressing their intentions or feelings to others.
