“A Clear Perception” showcases one of the hottest new bands to come out of the UK in a long time. Not wanting to follow the herd, The Eyes Of A Traitor like to take influence from a variety of bands and experiences meaning they are not your run–of-the-mill-generic-paint-by-numbers hardcore band. The albums heavy sound-scapes, melodic sensibilities and technical structure showcase a musical talent far beyond their years (the band are all under 21). A hard working attitude has helped them gain 5 independent tours covering UK and Europe, whilst building on their ever-growing fan base.
The follow up to "A Clear Perception" named "Breathless" was released on the 12th July 2010, with track names including 'Come To My Senses' and 'Talk of The Town'
A new ep entitled "Disease" is available on their tour with Martyr Defiled, Heart in Hand and Carcer City. It is more a follow up to "Breathless" than to their debut album, as they continue to evolve, and improve on their newer sound.

Hide behind cute poison
Sleep it off return to slender
In the wake of humble words.
Too many times has this been the case,
Hide behind cute poison
Sleep it off return to slender
Or do not rise at all
A moment of clarity runs
Through a now clean mind
Sorrow runs deeply down.
Or do not rise at all
A moment of clarity runs
Through a now clean mind
Sorrow runs deeply down.
Integrety to gain again,
Tales told of the night
Which struggles to remain
Conscious in the mind of the abuser.
For the sake of a glimpse, x2
Of those we had lost...
The Eyes of a Traitor's song "With Different Eyes" is a powerful piece that delves deep into the dangers of addiction and its effects on individuals. The singer highlights the need to confront the issue and face the consequences of engaging in such vices. The first stanza illustrates how some people hide behind a "cute poison" and only wake up to reality after a long and often painful period of self-destruction. The line "In the wake of humble words" indicates how individuals who suffer from addiction often resort to making empty promises and saying things they do not mean.
The second stanza brings out the effects of addiction and how it can leave a person helpless and sad. The line "Or do not rise at all" reinforces the idea of how addiction can be debilitating, leading the victim to a point of giving up completely. However, a moment of clarity can often interrupt the pattern of self-destructive behavior, giving hope that the individual may turn their life around. The line "Sorrow runs deeply down" shows the depth of sadness and despair that comes with addiction, and how it can consume one's life completely.
In the final stanza, the singer reflects on the need for individuals to regain their integrity, and how addiction can make it challenging to achieve this. The line "Tales told of the night/ Which struggles to remain/ Conscious in the mind of the abuser" illustrates how people who suffer from addiction often fall into denial, and their mind struggles to accept the truth of what they are going through. The final line "For the sake of a glimpse of those we had lost" is a plea for people to recognize the value of life and strive to overcome addiction, as failing to do so can lead to a loss of loved ones, and ultimately, oneself.
