These Four Walls Lyrics

(I'm losing clarity)
Struck out, its such a violent regression
(Switching the polarity)
Black out, somethingā²s coming loose
Your apathy is tightening the noose
So hey, you, systematic user
So sing something we know
Self deprecation is all we are
As the walls around you break, broke apart by a light grenade
Between darkness and hope, you're in the middle of it
Face down, conversating with the pavement
(And fighting gravity)
Checked out, your sense of self regard is vacant
(Just another casualty)
Black out, something's coming loose
Your apathy is tightening the noose
So hey, you, self appointed loser
(Meticulous abuser) this is not a future
So sing something we know
Self deprecation is all we are
As the walls around you break, broke apart by a light grenade
Between darkness and hope, youā²re in the middle of it
Strung out, youā²re in the middle of it
Struck out, you're in the middle of it
Face down, its not a future, its not a future, its not a future
So sing something we know
Self deprecation is all we are
As the walls around you break, broke apart by a light grenade
Between darkness and hope, youā²re in the middle of it
The lyrics of "Chaos" by These Four Walls convey a sense of confusion and hopelessness. The singer is lost and directionless, feeling as though they are caught in a cycle of self-sabotage. The repetition of "black out" emphasizes the feeling of being out of control, a victim of one's own apathy and careless behavior. The use of violent imagery, such as "tightening the noose" and "struck out," highlights the dangerous nature of this self-destructive mindset. The repeated refrain, "sing something we know," suggests that the singer is looking for a sense of familiarity or comfort, perhaps seeking solace in music or lyrics that they can relate to.
The song's chorus, with its references to self-deprecation and breaking walls, suggests that there is a way out of this cycle. The "light grenade" symbolizes a moment of clarity, a sudden realization that helps to break free from the darkness. The use of "between darkness and hope" suggests that the singer is not yet fully in the light, but is somewhere in the middle, struggling to find their way.
In many ways, "Chaos" is a powerful exploration of addiction, depression, and mental illness. The lyrics capture the sense of hopelessness and despair that can accompany these issues, as well as the struggle to break free from them. Ultimately, the song offers a message of hope, suggesting that even in the darkest moments, there is a way out.
