In "Don't Get It Twisted," Thug Life (which includes the late rapper, Tupac Shakur) warns others to avoid getting on their bad side. The first verse is rapped by Mopreme Shakur, Tupac's brother. He starts the verse by reminding everyone that just because someone appears stylish or cool, it doesn't mean they won't react with violence if provoked. Mopreme warns anyone not to underestimate him and reveals that he is associated with dangerous criminals. He ends the verse by stating that he is feeling crazy and doesn't want any trouble.
The following verse is rapped by Tupac and begins with him shouting out his crew, the Macadoshis, and their reputation for being tough. Tupac warns others not to make the mistake of crossing them, and says that he has no problem using his firearm to protect their interests. He ends the verse by cautioning his opponents that they should have listened to his advice, and not gotten "it twisted."
The final verse is rap by Big Syke, a collaborator with Tupac Shakur. Syke explains that people should not get involved with matters that don't concern them, and that he is tired of immature people who like to act tough. He warns his opponents that they will not be successful in taking him down, and says he is not afraid to use his weapon to take care of business. He ends the verse by repeating the phrase "don't get it twisted," warning people not to mess with him and his crew.

2pac broke this group apart because there was a buch of snakes in it he hadn't realized it until he got shot. Listen to the Vibe interview he made. He talks about how he killed Thug Life and gave birth to The Outlaws. This is why I don't like this song or any song in this album that doesn't have 2pac in it. I like to listen to real people rapping not studio gangsters..

It’s said Tupac was sick of Mopreme by 1996 because he was drinking too much and acting a fool. Pac even allowed Suge’s Piru goons to beat Mopreme up, strip him and throw him out the building.
