Timothy writes music in an original style, best described as New Age/Celtic fusion/Adult Contemporary Instrumental. Much of his work can be heard or downloaded at his Facebook page www.facebook.com/pages/Timothy-Wenzel.../173112229372547. His first CD "Mountains Take Wing" was released in 2012.
Biography
Timothy Wenzel was born in South Haven Michigan in the United States in 1955 and started studying piano under an accomplished teacher at the age of five years old. His musical style while a student in high school and college was and odd fusion of Rock and Roll with Classical and he frequently performed for friends or informal gatherings. In college and graduate school he studied chemistry, obtaining his PhD from Cornell University in 1983. After post-doctoral work at the University of California at Berkeley he began full time work as a research chemist in a major chemical company.
Despite the difficulties of graduate school, he always had a piano, or had access to one. A friend would record his finished works on a reel-to-reel tape recorder but none of these works are available to the public as of yet. Not until 1995 did he begin recording his work again, using newly-available multi-track recording software and electronic keyboards. As computer and keyboard technology progressed, his work began to incorporate the instruments of a new genre that fascinated him: New Age music, especially that which is Celtic influenced. Early influences include Enya, Clannad, Lorenna McKennitt as well as more pop-oriented artists such as U2 and Evanescence.
He released his first CD in March of 2012 titled "Mountains Take Wing" under the CD Baby label. It contains carefully selected, digitally-mastered songs from a large collection of music composed since 2007. A second CD is anticipated by early 2013.
Honors, awards and nominations include:
Finalist, 2010 Hollywood Music in Media Awards, for "Birka"
Finalist, 2011 Hollywood Music in Media Awards, for "Snow Falling Softly" and for "Luminous Flight" (w/ Sarah Gurr).
Finalist, 2012 Hollywood Music in Media Awards for "Mountains Take Wing" and for "Desert Dream" (w/ Sarah Gurr).

Hi Tom! Thank you very much. This was an increasingly popular video but I did it poorly. I decided to find clips at a bargain price so I put together a waaay better vidoe. Thanks again!

I have to tell you that I'm really loving this piece Tim. This has to be one of my very favorites. Maybe because I love the rain and find it so soothing, calming and peaceful to my spirit. I could play this over and over and not tire of it. As far as I'm concerned, you totally nailed this one Tim. It's pure Perfection! β¨πΆβπΆβ¨
