The real world Habsburgs suffered horrendously from inbreeding, and they were also pretty much a load of arrogant pricks / weirdos. One of the conditions mentioned early on (mandibular something or another) I believe is actually called "Habsburg Jaw" as it was so common in their family. At first I can see how someone can come to that conclusion, however there are some significant differences. For one Fernard doesn’t have any aversion to lights, while he has undergone mutations, they don’t seem to of been the result of inbreeding, Fernard speaks primarily English and French, and he doesn’t rape people or have the same idea of being apart of a perfect genetic bloodline.

Or the hills have eyes that's another one. Wrong turn was inbred freaks, Hills Have Eyes was freaks caused by nuclear testing in Nevada. There are two versions of Hills, the first is better than the remake. I think Wrong Turn had some sequels too. Also check out Rob Zombie's films if your looking for some other similar movies.

This one would be cool to see in the games. Imagine hearing voices and meat sounds as you walk past a broken glass enclosure and descend down stairs and see these abominations eating some guard. The alpha yells grotesque taunts and commands as the little ones notice and chase you. Maybe your flashlight keeps them at bay.

Thanks for doing this one, I remember suggesting it around Halloween I think, it's one of my favorite skips, the physical description of the 3288's is horrifying especially when you have a knowledge of biology and can picture what the technical terms would mean these things look like, pale, hunch backed, long multi fingered Pickman's Model looking monsters with teeth like sharks, the thought of them made me put on the lights when I first read it...

Skip wise, yeah this went into my top 10 from the first time I read it, my favourites are always the long form ones like 1730 (Red Sea Object, even after all these years is still hard to beat for me, personally, even more so when you tack on Blackwood's tale.) 3288 has just enough of a narrative to go with the physical horror of the 3288's themselves to weave an image that makes me walk faster when I walk past under passes and storm drain entrances at night.
