Balance
To The Wind Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Everyday we see so many suffering.
We watch old friends end up right in the arms of misery's company.
We watch those we love get ripped from our hands before we had a chance to set them free.
It's a constant struggle to remain standing.
I'm jaded and restless but I'm still standing on my own feet.

Overall Meaning

To The Wind's song "Balance" is a poignant reflection on the struggles that people face on a day-to-day basis. The opening lyrics speak to the pervasive nature of suffering in our world, as we witness friends and loved ones succumb to misery's grasp. The imagery of someone being pulled away from us before we have a chance to help them is particularly powerful and resonant. Through this lens, we are given insight into the singer's own struggles - they are tired and a little hopeless, but they are determined to keep going.

The chorus serves as an affirmation of the singer's resilience, even in the face of adversity. They acknowledge that it's not easy to stay strong, to keep standing and moving forward, but they are doing it anyway. The phrase "balance is a fleeting thing" highlights the fragility of this state - just like a tightrope walker, it only takes a small shift in circumstances to knock us off-balance. However, through their experiences and the support of those around them, the singer is able to maintain a sense of equilibrium.

Throughout the song, the band's instrumentation and vocal performance work in harmony to create an atmosphere that matches the introspective lyrics. The use of soaring guitars and driving drums creates a sense of urgency and tension, while the choruses offer up a moment of release and catharsis. Ultimately, "Balance" is a powerful reminder that we're all just doing our best to stay upright in a world that can be cruel and unrelenting.

Love this Band. Been listening to them since 2016. Found their song Downpour on accident. Since then I fell in love and listened to everything. Hardcore/metalcore bands more often than not sound awesome to me. grew up with alot of different types of rock and metal. These guys have worked hard for years and stayed true to themselves with their vision as an artist.
