Hey Good Lookin'
Tom Hiddleston and the Saddle Spring Boys Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hey, hey, good lookin'
Whatcha got cookin'?
How's about cookin'
Somethin' up with me?

Hey, sweet baby,
Don't you think maybe
We could find us
A brand new recipe?

I got a Hot-Rod Ford
And a two-dollar bill
And I know a spot
Right over the hill

There's soda pop
And the dancin's free
So if you wanna have fun
Come along with me

Say, hey, good lookin'
Whatcha got cookin'?
How's about cookin'
Somethin' up with me?

I'm free and ready
So we can go steady
How's about savin'
All your time for me?

No more lookin'
I know I've been tooken
How's about keepin'
Steady company?

I'm gonna throw
My date-book over the fence
And find me one
For five or ten cents

I'll keep it
'Til it's covered with age
'Cause I'm writin' your name
Down on every page

Say hey, good lookin'
Whatcha got cookin'?

How's about cookin'
Somethin' up with me?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Hey Good Lookin'" by Tom Hiddleston and the Saddle Spring Boys is a playful and flirtatious invitation to a girl for cooking up something exciting and new together. The song begins with the singer asking the girl what she's got cooking, suggesting that they cook something together. The singer then calls the girl "sweet baby" and asks her to find a brand new recipe with him.

The singer then goes on to describe how he's got a Hot-Rod Ford, a two-dollar bill, and knows a spot where there's soda pop and free dancing. He invites the girl to come along with him and have some fun. The second verse is even more direct in its invitation, as the singer suggests they could go steady and save all her time for him. He claims that he's thrown his date-book away and is looking for a new girl to fill it up with. The song ends with the singer repeating the opening lines, asking the girl to cook something up with him.

Overall, the lyrics of "Hey Good Lookin'" are a classic example of a playful, romantic, and somewhat suggestive country song. The song is full of cheeky double entendres and flirty language, making it a popular classic in country music.

Overall the movie was a little lacking but you can tell Tom absolutely put 110% into his performance; acting AND singing.

Beeeeeeef

NightAtTheOpera3 AND playing guitar!!! 😍

Ella Voslinsky

I actually really enjoyed it. The actors were fantastic, the plot was very interesting and the movie was dynamic. It was difficult from an emotional point of view - it's never easy to see such an amazing talent disappearing because of drugs and alcohol. In general I think that this movie is really underrated.
