The lyrics of "Some Say" by Tortoise and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy are about a woman who is going through some difficult times. Some people perceive her as a devil, and some say she is an angel. Despite this, people have tried to persuade her with all sorts of things to save her from feeling the pain she is experiencing. She is crying like a baby and feels like she is something like a woman.
In the next verses, the woman talks about the things she has seen that could qualify her for a part in someone's dream, i.e., she could be a character in someone's imaginary world. Although she would like to express her feelings openly and clearly, the music hides and conceals them. The woman is, thus, hiding all her feelings in her dream world.
