I Don't Wanna Care
Trey Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It makes me sick
Looking at you, from across the room
You and you're new
Lately
Iβm crazy
Bumming around, like a fool for you
Maybe Iβm just a fool for you
I donβt care who youβre dreaming of
I donβt need to know youβre kissing around
And I wanna be somebody else
I donβt wanna care what youβre thinking about
I donβt care who youβre dreaming of
I donβt care what youβre thinking about
I donβt care who youβre thinking about
Fever
Dreaming
About the night that you wore the dress
It drove me
Crazy
Not to have you
I was so upset
Can we
Maybe
Try to get past all of our history
Baby
I donβt wanna care what youβre thinking about
I donβt care who youβre dreaming of
I donβt need to know youβre kissing around
And I wanna be somebody else
I donβt wanna care what youβre thinking about
I donβt care who youβre dreaming of
I donβt care what youβre thinking about
I donβt care who youβre thinking about
I guess this is the part where I start to move on
And I try to put you out of my mind
Move across the country and Iβll face my fears
And I try to put you out of my mind
I guess itβs finally time
I make this place mine
I guess itβs time
And now Iβm totally fine
And now Iβll make you mine
In "I Don't Wanna Care," Trey expresses his feelings of frustration and heartbreak over seeing someone he used to care about with someone new. He admits to feeling sick and crazy, unable to move on from the memories of their past. However, he realizes that he doesn't want to continue caring about what this person is thinking, who they are dreaming of, or who they are with. Trey desires to escape these thoughts and be somebody else, someone free from the burden of caring about this person's actions and emotions.
The lyrics also convey Trey's longing for a fresh start. He dreams of the night when the person wore a dress that had a strong impact on him, driving him crazy with desire. He expresses his upset over not being able to have this person and suggests that maybe they can try to move past their history together. While Trey acknowledges the difficulty of letting go, he decides it's time to put this person out of his mind and move on. He plans to face his fears by moving across the country and making a new life for himself, where he can finally find happiness and make this new place his own.

Waka Flocka and Trey Songz actually made an awesome song together. Props to Trey with the chorus, the whole song goes hard.

I hate when people say that waka has no lyricism, its just goofy as fuck when i hear that shit. First off if you havent heard 556 or 9mm then you havent heard waka, when he wants to make a lyrical song he does really good, but that aint his goal, he makes amped up songs, and if you're rapping about emotions and deep shit its gonna kill the turnt up mood. I never see people go on adele songs and say "man she isnt turnt up at all this shit sucks" because they know she doesnt make amped up music. So why do people go on amped up shit bitching about lyricism
