Se baila, es la prosperidad
Ya, ya es noche de Reyes
A buenas horas, descubierta Troya
Ya, ya es fin de año
Se baila, es la prosperidad
Ya, ya es noche de Reyes
¿por qué no folláis?
Miedo me dais
Ya, ya es fin de año
Se baila, es la prosperidad
Ya, ya es noche de Reyes
A buenas horas, ¿por qué no folláis?
¿por qué no folláis?
Miedo me dais
The lyrics to "Ardió la Virgen de las Cabezas" by Triángulo de Amor Bizarro are reflective of the band's sarcastic and irreverent style. The song begins with a description of the end of the year, celebrating prosperity and the upcoming holiday of Reyes (Epiphany). However, this celebration is quickly undercut by the reference to Troy, a city that was famously destroyed, revealing a sense of futility and impending doom.
The chorus of the song is a mocking challenge to the audience, asking them why they aren't engaging in sexual activity. The repetition of this refrain underscores the song's critique of societal norms around sexual behavior and the repressed nature of certain cultures. The final line, "Miedo me dais" ("You scare me"), adds a touch of dark humor to the end of the song.
Overall, "Ardió la Virgen de las Cabezas" is a biting commentary on the superficiality of festive season and the hypocrisy of social norms. The imagery of destruction and the challenge to sexual norms create a sense of discomfort and unease, highlighting the complexities of modern society.
