After spending a difficult couple of years in Los Angeles, singing backing vocals and dating an idiot, Brown decided that she had had enough of America and returned home to London. She left her useless American boyfriend behind and decided to start anew. She bought a one-stringed guitar from a second-hand shop, and rented a tiny attic in east London. Within half an hour, she had written her debut single, Crying Blood, about a relationship meltdown.
Vanessa Brown released her debut album, Travelling Like the Light, in July 2009 by Universal Records. The album was preceded by limited non-chart eligible releases of Crying Blood and Leave!, as well as a third single entitled Shark in the Water, which peaked at #34 in the UK Singles Chart, making it her most successful single to date.
Brown wrote the music and plays instruments on the album. It is inspired by 1950s and electronic music as well as sounds emitted from Game Boy and Nintendo. Most of the lyrics on the album are about a failed affair Brown endured. On 5 December 2008, she was nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2009 award, alongside acts including Little Boots and Lady GaGa.
A fourth single, game over, was released in September 21, 2009.
The first single from Brown's second album was titled Children and was released to US iTunes on September 20 2011.

Faith
VV Brown Lyrics

Belly-flop into a swimming pool of sound
‘Cause when we’re gone there’ll be no-one else around
So you got to have faith (oh yeah)
I shake it off as I fall down to the ground
Belly-flop into a swimming pool of sound
‘Cause when we’re gone there’ll be no-one else around
Or we’re gonna fade away (oh yeah)
I don’t really care what’s going on
Forget about the righting all the wrongs
Do whatever you feel, do what you like
We’re underwater, free and sanctified
I shake it off as I fall down to the ground
Belly-flop into a swimming pool of sound
‘Cause when we’re gone there’ll be no-one else around
So you got to have faith (oh yeah)
Or we’re gonna fade away (oh yeah)
You got to have faith (Got to have faith)
You got to have faith (Got to have faith)
You got to have faith (oh yeah)
So, you got to have faith (Got to have faith)
You got to have faith (Got to have faith)
You got to have faith (oh yeah)
I shake it off as I fall down to the ground
Belly-flop into a swimming pool of sound
‘Cause when we’re gone there’ll be no-one else around
So you got to have faith (oh yeah)
Or we’re gonna fade away (oh yeah)
You got to have faith (Got to have faith)
You got to have faith (Got to have faith)
You got to have faith (oh yeah)
So, you got to have faith (Got to have faith)
You got to have faith (Got to have faith)
You got to have faith (oh yeah)
The lyrics of "Faith" by VV Brown ft. Kele Okereke are focused on the importance of having faith in oneself and in life. The opening line, "I shake it off as I fall down to the ground," appears to suggest a certain resilience in the face of adversity. The reference to a "swimming pool of sound" could be interpreted to represent the chaos of life, but the singer leaps in anyway, belly-flopping with abandon. The repeated phrase, "So you got to have faith," serves as a reminder to hold onto one's beliefs and choices, even when nobody else is around to support them.
Despite the potential for struggle and hardship, the lyrics advocate for pushing through life's difficulties while still remaining true to oneself. The line "I don’t really care what’s going on, forget about the righting all the wrongs" is a conscious choice to tune out the noise and focus instead on personal happiness and liberation. In the end, the lyrics of "Faith" encourage individuality, encouraging the listener to embrace themselves and their choices, even when it seems like everyone else has faded away.

With all the mindless drivel passed for music in today's era it's great to see a revolutionary artist who creates such music of depth.. who ever disliked this video should be ashamed of their sense of music.
