I once stopped drinking soda for over a year and my teeth got much whiter. I got compliments from my coworkers a lot. Then once I drank soda again, my teeth became stained again. Just... don’t drink it if you can help it. No matter how much you might think the drink is gonna help your bad mood or craving.

@OsnovnoVrachird brushing teeth right after drinking can errode the enamel (white layer) since its in a weakened state after the acidity from the coke so if you drink coke and brush your teeth gently and properly after a hour or two then it will be like nothing happened, this guy probably just doesnt brush his teeth properly

1 week, thats 7x24x60x60 = 604800 seconds. Lets say every sip from a regular glass takes 2 seconds and the glass is empty after 10 sips. Thats 20 seconds of cola in your mouth for each glass. That means that our teeth should look like this after 604800/20 = 30240 glasses of cola. In a 1,5L bottle are around 5 glasses. So our teeth look like this after 30240/5 = 6048 bottles = 6048x1,5L = 9072 liters. People drink an average of 150 litres each year. That means, our teeth will look like this in 9072/150 = 60,48 years. Keep in mind that we brush our teeth twice a day, so lets multiply the 60,48 years with 2. Thats roughly 120,96 years, longer that the average human life. So If you dont drink over 2-3 litres each day and brush your teeth well, there shouldn't be a big problem.

Yeah. Totally accurate representation to what happens when you drink coke. Besides that tooth was not connected to any bloodline and was soaked in sugar for a week without brushing it. Totally accurate. 10/10 great content.

Well, the difference is we don't hold cola in our mouths for a week so it's only obvious. You can also color the tooth like that by something healthy like carrots if you leave it in a class of carrot juice

The thing is, it's not like most of us have soda everyday. This is just after a lot of consumption, don't forget that people brush their teeth twice a day. As long as you aren't consuming it on a daily basis you're good.

Too many do not get that the point of video is not to show how harmful the coke is, but a simple experiment from a curious person to find out what happens in such situation. I did not hear Dave mention anything saying you should not drink Coke, people are taking it too personally.

I am curious what happens in month. Back in childhood I heard stories mentioning that a tooth disappears after 3 days in coke, so nice to see it being tested.

I worked for a pediatric dentist.

Acids wear away at the teeth. One type of etching we saw was "washboard teeth". People who often eat lemons like orange slices had this curious wavy look to the surface of the teeth a result of uneven wearing of the enamel.

Another and more serious etching was baby bottle syndrome. While putting a child to sleep with a bottle is VERY bad practice, the worst cases were people using acidic substances like orange juice, apple juice, tea and soda. One parent even added alcohol to their infant's juice! The teeth of the acidic substances were rotted off to the gum! Some had multiple abscesses resulting in even more crying. Infection in the head as well as in the blood stream affecting organs and the pericardium is very dangerous.

Take care of your teeth! Longevity has been closely tied to the mechanical action of good disease free teeth!

I had a grey tooth when I was a kid, it was already going to fall out anyway, if you didn’t know, greying in teeth could, in some rare cases be discolouration and bleeding, but mostly because the tooth died, funfact, teeth are alive and can have infections and die. My teeth were dead (or dying) from trauma that I caused to my tooth, I was craving sweets and ate dark chocolate.
