Thank you, thank you. One of my favorite albums. By the time I get to "Estate" I am back in the wonderful part of my soul, (that connects to the heart instead of the brain pushing complex thoughts). Having Joao sing Bruno Martino's 1960's "Estate" in its original Italian is a bonus. // This is the Brazil that I've always cherished in my imagination, not the mess that exists today with so much poverty, pandemic and poor leadership.

From that day on I sought it out. This was my discovery of Brazil, another world (on another continent actually), so it always figured in my imagination. Eu sempre achei o jeito em que o João canta as músicas em espanhol/italiano/inglês engraçado.

Há alguns anos eu comecei a apreciar a maneira como ele canta, principalmente nesse album, em específico. Besame Mucho passou a ser a minha música favorita na voz dele.. muito bonita!

@JuliaJappinen I know what you mean. I've had music of Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Astrid Gilberto since the 60s and if I wasn't dancing around with my baby/toddler I was dancing with my cat! Even if I just swayed. Last time I did that was much later in the 80s and 90s with my beautiful black longhaired cat Midnight. I often have danced with myself around the house! I am now almost 78 yrs. old! I bet you can't resist dancing around the house, too!💓💃💃💃

From the year 1976 this glorious album, with great orchestral arrangements by Claus Ogerman.
Ogerman would appear in 2002 with Diana Krall for her "Concert in Paris" -- he conducted during her take on S'Wonderful.

Lançado em 1977, “Amoroso” representa a maturidade de João Gilberto, é composto por ele, seu violão e um arranjo de orquestra muito interessante.
O disco é maravilhoso, muito regular e inspirado. Foi gravado nos EUA , logo o nível de refinameto é outro, ajuda muito na exeperiência de ouvir o mestre da Bossa Nova! É possível dizer que este é o auge de João, um grande trabalho, nos faz lembrar uma obra de arte assim como vemos na capa! POR NETO ROCHA 0:07 [Entre Acordes]
