Powder River
Violet Indiana Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To end you, I'll find a way, A place you can stay
The distance was killing me.
Here I am, the feel again, a beautiful day, to end you
I'll find a way, all mine today, was there a way to love me?
Here I am, alone again, the dreaded day to end you
Oh your distance was killing me.
Your distance was killing me.
Aah aah oh, killing me.
The lyrics to Violet Indiana's song Powder River are open to interpretation, but they suggest a sense of loneliness and detachment from someone significant. The singer expresses a desire to end this relationship, but also seems to be struggling with the idea of letting go. The repetition of the phrase "Here I am, alone again" emphasizes the singer's isolation and sense of despair. The mention of "the dreaded day" further suggests that this decision has been a long time coming, perhaps indicating that the person the singer is addressing has been absent or distant for some time.
The line "was there a way to love me?" suggests that the singer may feel that they were not loved or appreciated by the other person. The distance between them is described as "killing" the singer, indicating that the isolation and detachment has taken a toll on them emotionally. Despite this, the singer seems torn about ending the relationship, perhaps indicating that there were once happy times between them that they are now mourning. The phrase "a beautiful day, to end you" suggests a sense of irony or sadness, as if the singer is lamenting the loss of what could have been.
Overall, the lyrics to Powder River suggest a complex and emotional relationship, filled with both joy and pain. The singer seems to be struggling with the decision to end things, but ultimately feels that it is necessary for their own well-being.
