Don't Forget Me [Guy Ehmetores
Way Out West Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's just one thing that I need to say
Before I close my eyes and walk away
There's just one thing that I need to feel
Before I walk away against my will
There's just one thing that I need to hear
Before I walk away for the last time
There's just one thing that I need to see
Before I take this chance and set us free

don't forget me
Don't regret me
Don't suspect me
Don't neglect me

The memory of this still reminds me of you
The memory of this still reminds me
The memory of this still reminds me of you
That is where you'll find me

Stars in your eyes
Did you take the time to realize

Can you count the stars in your eyes
Did you take the time to realize

Overall Meaning

Way Out West feat. Omi's song Don't Forget Me is a soulful ballad that highlights the emotions of wanting to be remembered by someone. The song expresses the singer's longing to have one last thing he needs to say, hear, feel, and see before he walks away completely. The lyrics depict a heart-wrenching moment when someone is trying to escape from a love that has become painful, but at the same time, they don't wish to be forgotten. It is a plea for the other person to remember them, not regret, suspect, or neglect them once they are gone.

The song's chorus repeats the lines, "don't forget me, don't regret me, don't suspect me, don't neglect me," emphasizing the singer's desire to be remembered and not erased from the memory of their loved one. The words are simple, but the delivery of the lines is powerful, creating a sense of urgency and fear of being forgotten.

The second verse of the song suggests that the memory of the time spent together is still fresh in their minds, and it reminds them of the other person. As the song progresses, the lyrics encourage the other person to realize that there were stars in their eyes when they were together, and it's vital not to forget those moments.

Overall, Don't Forget Me is a melancholic song that encapsulates the feeling of treasuring a memory and not wanting to lose it. It mirrors the pain one experiences when trying to escape the grasp of love but not wanting to be forgotten.

Well I'm 13 years late to this trance party, but glad I found it on this Tiesto mix. This song's a frikkin masterpiece. Starts off ambient, slides into progressive house, then explodes into some peak time trance. Looks like it's Tiesto's own Dennis Waakop Reijers who did this remix.

I remember tiesto played this in May 2005 at the Avalon in Hollywood. It was an unforgettable experience. His music WAS truly powerful.

MrJohndory111 it would be amazing if he had just one more concert in LA where he played only his classics. Not the non sense he plays now. I’m 36 now and I always find myself reminiscing about those days. My wife thinks it was the drugs lol but we all know this music was something special and even more so when shared amongst a group of people who shared in the pure joy that was Tiesto back then.

pasha1423 Shame that he left the quality music behind

An immense underrated classic I never, ever get tired of at, and this is my favorite mix here. I went insane when Tiesto played this on ISOS 5 (which comes in both mixed and unmixed formats).
