We Are the Fallen Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tears drown my heart filled with rage
Blinding silence takes your place
Broken forever by this life
Why
Wake from where you lie
I'm praying for more time
Don't sleep tonight
Heaven hear me, hold them safe
Time stands frozen, no more strength
Broken forever by this life
Why
Wake from where you lie
Don't say goodbye
I'm praying for more time
Don't sleep tonight
Lay low, peaceful dreaming,
We're safe till your last breath shall die
The lyrics to We Are the Fallen's song Samhain evoke a sense of grief and longing for someone who has passed away. The first few lines convey a feeling of overwhelming sadness as the memories of the person flood the singer's brain and tears fill their heart. The sense of loss is accentuated by the line "Blinding silence takes your place," which suggests that the absence of the person is deafening in its emptiness.
The chorus brings a plea for more time with the loved one who has passed. The lines "Wake from where you lie, don't say goodbye, I'm praying for more time, don't sleep tonight" allude to a sense of hope that the person will return, and a plea to the universe to not let them slip away. The following lines "Heaven hear me, hold them safe, time stands frozen, no more strength" reinforce this sense of hopelessness and helplessness, as the singer feels they are powerless against the passage of time and the inevitability of death.
The final verse seems to accept the reality of the situation, with the line "Lay low, peaceful dreaming, we're safe till your last breath shall die." This line suggests a recognition that the loved one will eventually pass away, but until then, the singer will cherish the peaceful moments they share together.

I discovered WATF during pre covid..and have fallen in LOVE🖤! There’s a part of me wishes they would come out with a new album..but if they chosen to focus on family..that’s a great choice🙌🏾
