PILLS
White Reaper Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've got it bad, ya know
Give me a double dose
Sick of my tired eyes
I'm living like a ghost

I gotta spend more time on the things that I want
I gotta spend more time on the things that I want
I gotta spend more time on the things that I want
I gotta spend more time

And those kids from years ago
They don't get along
They're not best friends anymore
Suppose they never were at all

Help me, can't you see?
I think I'm sick, can you be the
Help I need please
Won't you be my pill?

I got the fever to kill
The things I love the most
To live I have no will
I'm living like a ghost

I gotta spend more time on the things that I want
I gotta spend more time on the things that I want
I gotta spend more time on the things that I want
I gotta take more time

And those kids from years ago
They don't get along
They're not best friends anymore
Suppose they never were at all

Help me, can't you see?
I think I'm sick, can you be the

Help I need please
Won't you be my pill?

Overall Meaning

White Reaper's song Pills is about the singer's struggle with depression and the feeling of being lost and disconnected from the world around them. The song starts with the singer expressing their desire for a double dose of their medication. They are tired of feeling like a ghost and living life in a haze. The lyrics "I gotta spend more time on the things that I want" reveal the singer's realization that they need to focus on their own desires and prioritize their own happiness. However, the singer also seems to have a self-destructive nature, as they confess to having the "fever to kill the things I love the most." This might refer to the singer's tendency to sabotage themselves and their own happiness.

The second half of the song is about the singer's inability to connect with people, including their childhood friends. The lines "And those kids from years ago, they don't get along, they're not best friends anymore, suppose they never were at all" suggest that the singer feels alone and disconnected from their past. The repeated plea for help and the request for someone to be their "pill" reveals the singer's desire for someone to rescue them from their own self-destructive tendencies.

Overall, the song Pills is a poignant exploration of depression, isolation, and the search for connection and happiness.

White Reaper is the best fucking modern band around right now. No question. This song alone is a very, very small reason to get into them. All of their shit rocks so hard and there isn't one song I dislike by them.

Michael Wills

Love it.

I saw white reaper in santa crus a few months ago and their guitarist throw his guitar into the crowd at the end of his set. i was in a mosh pit and had done two back flips off the stage which one landed pretty well, the other i got dropped har hahahaha. Among many other front flips which i have prefectected at this point into the crowd. during all this shit some kid dropped a cell phone in the crowd so at the end of the set i went up to the singer handing him the lost phone while the guitar is still in the crowd,,, He holds the phone up and says hey who is this and i yell fucking smash it as a very clear joke not to smash the phone, but the kids in the crowd fighting over the guitar thought i was yelling it about the guitar that had been passed into the crowd. one kid finally has the guitar and thinks my "fucking smash it" for the phone was the guitar. 8 other kids yelled that shit once they heard me say smash it about the phone, so he completely fucked up this great guitar but in the name of party rock and thats the kinda shows white reaper wants to play ya know.
