1) Wide (Italy)<… Read Full Bio ↴There is more than one group by the name of "Wide":
1) Wide (Italy)
The band was formed in 2001 after an online meeting between Antonio Rafaschieri and Gianni Pollex. For about three years the sound of the band was very much based on the unrestrained sounds of the British invasion starting with the Beatles, passing through Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin and arriving at the more recent U2, Oasis and Coldplay. Afterwards, with the arrival of the drummer Beppe Garavelli, the bass player Giorgio Cutrignelli and the guitarist Bepy Capasso, the sound scene changed and headed towards an easier musicality, tending more towards an Italian style pop-rock in the wake of artists who have left their mark such as Lucio Battisti, Vasco Rossi, Ligabue. In their own words, “Our aim is to write great songs, catchy tunes, sometimes thoughtful other times danceable, imprinting in the listener’s heart touching choruses which are easy to sing along to. Forced ‘marketability’ with hidden intentions is never a good thing; nonetheless the masses, for good or for bad, are always right and the audience is the only real judge and critic! We make no attempt to hide our aspirations to give life to magnificent concerts for people of every age.”

2) Wide is a Funk/Pop-band from the heart of Uppsala, Sweden. Members include: Filip Åhlman, Jakob Dalnert, Jon Eriksson, Per Wickström and Daniel Söderbäck.
When they do greater gigs some of their friends join them up at the stage, usually a horn-section consisting of three people.
They've recorded a demo called "Sessions" which contains their greatest hits so far; "Alla Vet" and "Saker som Sker".
In Fall 2006 they will take a time-out whilst one/some of the members are destined to do other stuff in various environments.
They will NOT play at "Fett me kärlek" this year, maybe later. They also love that dude, Fredric Nilsson.

Trying to shape all my decisions
Questioning my every move
I got enough of this position
Fitting into your description
change my hair, my clothes, my mood
Fill up my cup
Ain’t my job fitting your box
I’m not trying to be someone
That you can bring home to your mom
So times up
You better stop
You push too hard
It won't add up
I can't be the polished little thing you want
I, I, I ain’t a nice girl
I get so fed up of
Walking your way
You want the basic
you’re such a cliche
I, I, I ain’t at a nice girl
You say you don't like mad girls,
sad girls, complicated, cultivated bad girls with big curls
Yeah it's a mad world
And imma try and make it on my own terms
(On my, on my own terms)
So bottoms up
Fill up my cup
Ain’t my job fitting your box
I’m not trying to be someone
That you can bring home to your mom
So times up
You better stop
You push too hard
It won't add up
I can't be the polished little thing you want
I, I, I ain’t a nice girl
I get so fed up of
Walking your way
You want the basic
you’re such a cliche
I, I, I ain’t a nice girl
You bring out my madness
When you say that I’m a savage
Don't you get that I won't change
Cuz being plain and boring
Is a prize I’ll never pay
Still it brings me a sadness
When you act like I’m a challenge
And when you’re done
You just move on
Cuz’ changing my appearance seems like you’re idea of fun
I get so fed up of
Walking your way
You want the basic
You’re such a cliche
I, I, I ain’t a nice girl
In the song "Ain't a Nice Girl" by Wide, the lyrics express frustration and defiance towards societal expectations and pressures to conform to a certain mold. The persona is tired of constantly being judged and criticized for their choices and actions, feeling suffocated by the need to fit into a predetermined role.
The chorus emphasizes the persona's refusal to be confined by others' ideas of who they should be. They reject the notion of being a cookie-cutter version of themselves to please others, refusing to be the "polished little thing" that is expected of them. The repeated phrase "I, I, I ain't a nice girl" serves as a declaration of independence and self-assertion.
The persona challenges the stereotypes and labels placed on them, highlighting the absurdity of being categorized as a "nice girl" or conforming to traditional expectations. They reject the idea of being easily defined or controlled, pushing back against being typecast as someone who can be neatly packaged and presented to others.
In the final verse, the persona confronts the expectations placed on them to change and conform to fit a certain image. They acknowledge the pressure to alter their appearance and behavior to please others, yet firmly stand their ground, asserting their refusal to be something they are not. The song ultimately conveys a message of empowerment and self-acceptance, encouraging listeners to embrace their uniqueness and reject societal norms that seek to limit individuality.
