Songwriter Bobby Sandstrom helped them write and record demos. The group eventually signed a music publishing deal with Sony's RCA Record. After several years of work, they finally could make a major release.
In the fall of 1996, Wild Orchid released their self-titled debut album Wild Orchid. The largely self-written album sold nearly a million units worldwide and included the singles "Talk To Me" (which was included in the hit movie Fools Rush In), "At Night I Pray," and "Supernatural." The album received two Billboard Award nominations for "Talk To Me," two Lady Of Soul/Soul Train Award nominations - one for Album of The Year by A Group, Band or Duo and one for Best Music Video for "Talk To Me," and an American Music Award nomination for Favorite R&B/Soul New Artist.
In late 1997, the group toured with 98 Degrees and *NSync, and in the summer of 1998 the trio released their second album, Oxygen which included the single "Be Mine."
Wild Orchid also hosted the ABC Family Channel's Saturday morning show "Great Pretenders," which featured chart hits lip-synched by everyday kids, while competing for prizes. They also went on a 52-city tour with Cher and Cyndi Lauper.
In 2001, the group released "Stuttering (Don't Say)," which reached the Top 40 chart, and had a concert special on Much Music, on July 29, 2001. Stacy parted ways with Renee and Stefanie shortly after in September 2001, leaving Wild Orchid to continue on as a duo. Stacy joined the Hip-Hop group Black Eyed Peas in 2003 under the stage name Fergie. Wild Orchid's third studio album as a trio, Fire, was never released, although a song off the album called "It's All Your Fault" was featured in the 2001 film What Women Want.
In 2004, Wild Orchid, consisting of Renee and Stefanie, released their fourth studio album "Hypnotic". Unfortunately, it failed to make the Billboard charts. Since then, Renee has been doing work as a session singer and Stefanie is now a member of the House/Techno duo, 5th Element.

Sometimes when two people meet
You know that undeniably
There can be an instant chemistry
Do you feel the magic here with me
Ohh, let's not wait
No need to hesitate
Tic toc look at the clock
Love is just a moment away
Don't stop, make my world rock
Come closer don't make me wait
Tic toc the doors are all locked
Love is just a moment away
Never gonna stop
Gonna make you rock
To the rhythm of the Tic Toc
Longing for those sleepless nights
Sunday morning lazy days and candlelight
The anticipation drives me wild
Fantasies they just won't leave my mind
Ohh let's not wait
Destiny said this is fate
Just imagine what we could create
All night long
Never gonna stop
Gonna make you rock
To the rhythm of the Tic Toc
Just hold on
Take it nice and slow
want to make it slow
Like the rivers and the oceans go
Feel the current deep down below
We'll be free
It's a mystery
Wondering what will be
Fortune tellers are telling me
In the crystal ball they can see
You and me
Ohh, time keeps ticking away
It goes by so fast
Let's live in the moment, let's make this love last
The song Tic Toc by Wild Orchid is a smooth, romantic R&B track that speaks of love at first sight and taking chances before it's too late. The lyrics suggest that when two people meet and the chemistry is palpable, it's best to act on it without hesitation before the moment passes. The chorus of the song is an exclamation to not waste any time, with the clock ticking and the doors locked, love is just a moment away. The song paints a picture of the longing for the connection that two people can share, the desire to make that connection rock and hold on to it.
The lyrics use the concept of Tic Toc, referring to the sound of a clock ticking away, to represent the limited time two people might have to take a chance on love. As the clock ticks, opportunities come and go, and the message of the song is that we should live in the moment and take advantage of these opportunities before they slip away. The lyrics are poetic, painting a vivid picture of romantic anticipation and building desire.
Overall, Tic Toc is a beautiful song that captures the essence of love when two people meet and the irresistible attraction they share. It is a timeless message that encourages us to seize the moment and take chances before they slip away.

When Wild Orchid came out they were truly a fantastic group + I also loved and I enjoyed listening to their music and watching their music videos as well + my number one top favorite song by Wild Orchid is tic toc. The song is truly fantastic & the coolest. I so would love to see Fergie get back together with Wild Orchid and start making new music again. Truly love this group when they came out in a way I still do love their music. I know Fergie just came out with a new CD not that long ago but still. I prefer Fergie to go back with Wild Orchid.
