Wild Orchids performed live as a duo featuring original material, sometimes expanding out to a trio with Geoff Drummer or Tanya Cavenagh to play covers and occasionally to a full all girl rock band. They played at venues all around Melbourne and country Victoria.
Wild Orchids had a residency at the Fox and Hounds with the Musicians and Artists Support Collective and took part in MASC for Rwanda with a huge concert at the now burned down PALACE in St. Kilda.
They contributed a track to the 15 track compilation CD with Josie Jason and the Argonauts, Screaming Jets, Scary Mother, Land of Milk and Honey, Shivai, Peace of Mind, L.I.C.K., Silent Temple, Sufi Dervish, Serigon and Backlash. Chris Scheri produced / engineered and played the flutes for the theme song for the album, "Soon You Won't Be Standing" written by Skye Patricks.
Wild Orchids were awarded CD of the year on Australian TV Channel 31 - 1996/97.
Wild Orchids made many live appearances, and gave interviews with live performances of their songs on variety shows aired on Ch31 and Ch50 (Foxtell).
They played live to air on the Bert Newton Show, Goodmorning Australia (Ch9)
They also played live to air on ABC radio, Gail Jennings AM and Terry Laidler's evening show and Tony Delroy played their CD. Adam Joseph featured their music often on 3AW Overnights. 3RRR and JJJ also played Wild Orchids tracks.
Wild Orchids released 2 cassette EPs in the mid 1990s prior to the Masc for Rwanda CD.
Subsequently Wild Orchids released a 13 track CD, "Past all the Edges".
It was previewed at The Walnut Tree and launched at Miettas.

When I and Dave lived there we lived there in the top floor as a resident in the 00s, it was still a dance club underneath, and had no problems. If you do maybe you need to report it to the authorities. I lived there in the early 00s and had no problems aside the occasional sound disturbance from the dance club below and a minor earthquake. -aj

MusicInsanity honestly dude do you think your Christianity makes you better than everyone else? You call yourself a Christian, well doesn't the Bible say judge not lest ye be judged? Or I think it's more along the lines says judge not and you will not be judged. You don't have to be out there fighting Crusades for Morality anymore, because if your religion is real, your own icon Jesus said that he took you out of the law of Moses. He said his new Commandments were to love God and love each other. I like it put best this way hate the sin but still love The Sinner. Who gives a flying f if their sign is out in public? I see worse signs on a front window of Victoria's Secret. Now since you're protesting the strip clubs, are you going to go to the Meadowood Mall and protest the Victoria's Secret store as well. Cuz you got to remember the Meadowood Mall is right in public and people pass by their window every day.

These signs are no different than a Victoria's Secret ad on TV. It's no different than a burlesque show sign in downtown Reno either. The girls are covering their breasts and private regions. Pole dancing is also no different than a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas, in which performers use poles, silks, hoops and trapezes.

Mary Smith I am sex-positive... and I am not religious. I am a Christian Anarchist who does not like organized religion or government. My wife was a Colombian prostitute and I took her out of prostitution. I am not preaching against the sex industry. I am preaching against bright signs flashing images of strippers for all of the children to see... and no, it is not the same as burlesque or competitive pole dancing;; this is erotic and explicit imagery. I have been to pole dancing championships and one woman from Vegas danced like this at the competition and all of the other competitors were appalled... and these were some of the best of the best dancers in the USA. Pole dancing is an art and it is erotic, but it does not have to be explicit. The women in this display are displaying the art of erotic and explicit sexual seduction. the video is self-explanatory. We can all have differences of opinion, but if my child lived in that neighborhood, the sign would come down, one way or the other. Apparently someone else found it offensive and they damaged one side of it. If the graphics remain the same next time I am preaching in Reno, I will preach on it just the same. I do not believe that we have a right to force others to comply with our wishes, however is something is harmful we have a duty to others to address it, and this sign is harmful for the community.

Well surprise surprise, all the strip clubs have to be moved out near stead Boulevard now and all within two blocks of each other. Wild Orchid is not the only one that's moving out there, so is Spice House, Fantasy Girls, and the gentlemen's club right next to the railroad.
