Leaving home was like leaping out of a moving camry. the speed and bang they knew had vanished all at once, and they were left traipsing. About 17 months after arriving in Birmingham, Jenny the ghost girl wrote a folk-gaze song about missing her old insurmountable Marietta band, and posted the song in an ad on Xanga.com. and that was how her bandmates found her and Wilder Adkins was cheered.
Wilder Adkins writes songs about rings and sweatbands. we sound like indie and folk and CCM, a mix of Deerhunter and The Kinks, except with dulcimer. Wilder Adkins is a certified Pokemon trainer.
Wilder's first full-length LP, "Nightblooms", came out in the summer of 2009. It was self recorded in Atlanta and Birmingham in the fall of 2008. Oak and Apple followed in 2011. You can hear more at wilderadkins.bandcamp.com

Let me warm you in my arms
The world is rushing all about
Tonight such peace is in your eyes
O, my son, how still you lay
I wonder what you dream
O, my God, the world is yours
Sleep and rest your eyes my, love
let me warm you in my arms
the world is weeping all about
tonight such peace is in my heart
Hallelujah, hallelujah,
you are the morning star
Hallelujah, hallelujah
how beautiful you are
The lyrics to Wilder Adkins's song "Mary's Lullaby" are a tender, heartfelt expression of a mother's love and awe at the miracle of her child's existence. The song opens with the mother encouraging her baby to rest, offering comfort and safety in her arms amidst the chaos of the world rushing by. She marvels at the tranquility in her child's eyes, wondering what he dreams about.
The mother then turns her thoughts upward, addressing God and wondering why she was chosen to bear such a precious life. She is in awe of the vastness of the world and the mystery of its Creator. As the song progresses, the mother's love and wonder shift to adoration of her child, whom she praises as a "morning star" of beauty and divinity.
Overall, "Mary's Lullaby" is a deeply personal, poignant reflection on the profound emotional connection between a mother and child, and on the mysteries of life and faith.
