In 1988, Downing finally made his solo debut, releasing the self-titled Will Downing. The album featured a new version of John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme." The track did not fair well on the R&B charts but it managed to reach #4 on the Dance charts. In the United Kingdom, "A Love Supreme" managed to reach #14 on the singles charts.
Downing has released many albums throughout his career, always on the brink of stardom but never quite making it. In 1989 he released Come Together As One and in '91, Dream Fulfilled. The latter featured the single "I Try" which reached #13 on the R&B charts, Downing's best performance to date.
1993 saw Downing's fourth album release with Love's the Place to Be. In 1995, he released Moods and in 1997, Invitation Only. Continuing his steady stream of releases, 1998 saw Pleasures of the Night, 2000 offered All the Man You Need and in 2002, Sensual Journey.
With so many albums under his belt, Downing never slows down, releasing Emotions in 2003, Christmas, Love and You in 2004 and Soul Symphony in 2005.
While Will Downing has never been a massive celebrity in the United States, he has seen reasonable success in the United Kingdom.
Let's Make It Now

It's so nice to have you here with me
Talking with my best friend
Baby It's you, I been missing
Your the words to this song
And that's why I keep holding on
Tomorrow offers no guarantee
Right now baby
[Chorus]
Letâ??s make it now
Let's make it
Cause whenever were together
I lose myself in you
Let's make it now
Letâ??s make it
If these words of love are captured
I can feel my love flowing through right now
Right Now
Letâ??s Make It
Right now
Sweet baby girl
I know it gets cold
When you come home from work
And I'm out on the road
When I'm gone
I'm missing you
Cause these moments spent alone
Should be moments spent alone with you
There are nights when I'm all alone
And I'm dreaming baby, I'm holding on to you
Ooooh, Here's my final note
For you to understand
Your my every kinda woman
And I'm proud to be your every kind of man
The song "Let's Make It Now" by Will Downing is a declaration of love to a special someone. The opening lines of the song express the singer's joy at having his partner by his side after a long day, just talking like best friends. The singer confesses that he has been missing his lover because she is the words to his song and thus he keeps holding on. The chorus affirms the singer's desire to make love, and enjoy the passion that comes with being together. The song highlights the physical and emotional intimacy that the couple shares.
The second verse illustrates the difficulty of being apart from his lover. When the singer goes on the road, his partner feels lonely and cold. The couple cherishes the special moments they spend together, and he yearns to be with her in those lonely nights he spends on the road. The last two lines, "Your my every kinda woman, And I'm proud to be your every kind of man," unequivocally displays his commitment to his partner as he acknowledges that they are each other's ideal match.
Overall, "Let's Make It Now" is a song that glorifies the power of love and the satisfaction that comes with intimacy. It's a declaration of commitment and affection, with the singer laying bare his feeling for his special someone.
