AND GOT A BRAND NEW PHONE
YOU CAN STAY OUT ALL YOU LIKE
IM BETTER OFF ALONE
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED
YOU HAD IT ALL
I BET YOU THINK YOU’VE GOT IT MADE
I CAN’T FORGET
EVERYTHING YOU DO
MAKES ME MAD AT YOU
ALL YOU’VE PUT ME THROUGH
I CAN’T FORGET
THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN SAY
TO MAKE ME CHANGE MY MIND
YOUR STUFF IS IN THE STREET
JUST TAKE WHAT YOU CAN FIND
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED
YOU TOOK IT ALL
YOU MESSED UP ALL THE PLANS WE MADE
I CANT FORGIVE
I CANT FORGET
THE TIME I BOUGHT YOU DIAMOND RINGS AND PRETTY PEARLS,
THAT WERENT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU
I WOULD OF WROTE YOUR NAME IN CLOUDS AROUND THE WORLD, BACK THEN I DIDN’T HAVE A CLUE
THAT ALL THE WORDS YOU EVER SAID WOULD SPIN AROUND AROUND INSIDE MY HEAD
EVERYTHING YOU DO
MAKES ME MAD AT YOU
ALL YOU’VE PUT ME THROUGH
I CAN’T FORGET
EVERYTHING YOU DO
EVERYTHING YOU DO
EVERY EVERYTHING
The lyrics to Will Kevans's song Everything You Do explore themes of heartbreak, betrayal, and moving on from a relationship. The singer has decided to end their relationship with their partner and has taken steps towards healing, such as burning their photographs and getting a new phone. The chorus expresses the singer's anger and hurt towards their former partner, with the repetition of "everything you do" emphasizing the ongoing pain they feel.
The second verse provides more context to the singer's feelings, as they remember past gestures of love they made towards their partner, such as buying them diamond rings and wanting to write their name in clouds. However, their efforts were not appreciated or reciprocated, leading to a sense of disillusionment and regret.
Overall, the song captures the complicated emotions of a breakup and the struggle to let go of someone who has caused pain. The repetition of the phrase "I can't forget," despite the singer's attempts to move on, highlights the lingering impact of past relationships on our lives.
