Frosty was aware of the sun's effect on him.

The sun was hot that day
It was a hot day, and Frosty knew it wasn't good for him.

Frosty suggested they run to avoid the sun and to have some fun before he melted.

He was a playful snowman and kept leading them around while challenging the children to catch him.

He led them down the streets of town
Frosty went down the streets of the town, accompanied by the children, still running around excitedly.

Frosty and the children went all the way to the traffic cop, with the children following him excitedly.

And he only paused a moment when
He stopped for a brief moment.

He heard him holler Stop!
The traffic cop had to stop Frosty even though he was having fun since it was for his safety and well-being.

For Frosty the snow man
It had become apparent that Frosty was a snowman, despite his lively nature.

Had to hurry on his way
Frosty had to move on and keep going.

But he waved goodbye saying
As Frosty left, he waved goodbye to everyone.

Don't you cry
Frosty knew the children were crying and worried but nonetheless tried to soothe them, asking them not to be sad about his departure.

I'll be back again some day
Frosty knew that it wasn't truly the end, and he could return someday, renewing their happiness.
