In April 2018, a fortunate encounter led to a tour of Hong Kong and China, where enthusiastic audiences eagerly received them.
Never ones to let the dust settle, the band released their follow-up LP, "Stressor," in March 2019 and embarked on a relentless North American tour until early 2020. The release of "Stressor" along with an extensive tour schedule earned the band a devoted following and resulted in some album tracks being prominently featured on television and Netflix.
During most of their free time in 2020, the band dedicated themselves to writing and recording their phenomenal third full-length record, "Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party," at The Sugar Shack in London, Ontario, with the assistance of Simon Larochette.
"The record is crazy! We really spent a lot of time getting the songs to sound exactly the way we wanted. I think this is the best stuff we've recorded, and I'm super stoked with the end result!" says Cam.
Wine Lips is composed of Cam Hilborn on guitar and vocals, Aurora Evans on drums, Jordan Sosensky on guitar, and Charlie Weare on bass.
"This new song is a garage-punk sugar rush." – Brooklyn Vegan
"It's pure adrenaline, it's noise, it's intense, it's refreshing, and it feels life-giving. The garage-psych band's new album is, for all intents and purposes, pretty fucking crazy." - Exclaim!
"The song—off the upcoming full-length Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party—is double-time, turbo-snotty garage rock slimed in gloriously vintage reverb. And, if possible, the video is even greater—a testimony to the power of setting up in a room, turning on the cameras, and then having at ’er." – Georgia Strait

Wine Lips Lyrics

So stuck, I hit another dead end, what a big surprise
Don’t you wait on me,
I can barely see
So tired I can barely stand it, I need to close my eyes
My head is spinning from the sun split, what a nice disguise
Don’t you wait on me,
The lyrics to Wine Lips's song "Eyes" delve into the feelings of exhaustion and frustration that come with the day-to-day struggles of life. The singer is desperately trying to make it through the weekend, longing for a break from the challenges and disappointments they continually face. The repetition of the phrase "so stuck, I hit another dead end, what a big surprise" reflects the constant feeling of being trapped and the realization that setbacks are to be expected. The line "Don’t you wait on me, I can barely see" suggests a desire to be left alone, as the individual is too overwhelmed to give any attention or support to others.
The lyrics further emphasize the weariness and exhaustion felt by the singer. They describe being so tired that they can barely stand, desperately needing to close their eyes. Additionally, the line "My head is spinning from the sun split, what a nice disguise" could suggest that the singer is not just physically tired, but emotionally drained as well. The sun splitting could be a metaphorical representation of their mental strain, indicating that behind a seemingly happy exterior lies profound turmoil and inner conflict.
Overall, "Eyes" by Wine Lips captures the feelings of exhaustion, frustration, and longing for respite. It portrays the struggles that come with navigating through life's challenges and the constant need for a break to gather strength and regain clarity.
