Having taken up singing as a hobby after arriving in her new homeland, Wing gained an audience by entertaining patients at nursing homes and hospitals in and around Auckland, and this prompted suggestions that she release a CD; the result was a debut entitled Phantom of the Opera, featuring the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic, and a selection of other popular tunes. Most agree that Wing's music lacks accuracy in pitch, and the style of her vocals rarely seems appropriate for the songs she covers. This has not stopped fans though, some of whom listen for the novelty, whereas others genuinely appreciate Wing's music.
Despite — or more accurately, because of — Wing's pronounced lack of vocal talent and marginal command of English diction, the recording proved a success, leading to a number of subsequent releases that eventually gained her an international audience. In recent years she has become a minor celebrity, appearing on such shows as Rove Live and being featured on episode 903 of South Park, which she actually recorded her vocals for.
Wing continues in the tradition of William Hung, Florence Foster Jenkins and Mrs Miller, and despite receiving some rather acerbic reviews, continues to perform and record.
Boyfriend
Wing Lyrics

Break my bones tonight
Under your spell again, nightmare comes into my head
Take my soul tonight
I am the boyfriend of death
You should fear
Are you afraid?
When the angels have fallen
When our wings are broken
The devils come into me
Yes I can feel it
When the night comes
Can you hear my voice?
Now you have no choice
Yeah Hell knocks your head
We stand together
We’ll live forever
The song "Boyfriend" by Wing is a dark and intense piece of music, with lyrics that seem to be describing a profound and twisted relationship between the singer of the song and the idea of death. The first verse sets the tone, with the singer claiming that the presence of death in their life makes them feel more alive, and asking to be broken and taken by the personification of death. The second verse doubles down on this imagery, with the singer claiming to be the "boyfriend of death" and suggesting that others should fear them. The chorus of the song is a haunting set of lines that almost sound like a ritual incantation or a prayer, with the singer asking if the listener can hear their voice on the night when the devils come into the world. The song concludes with the singer and their lover (death) standing together and living forever.
One possible interpretation of this song is that it is a meditation on the inevitability of death and the power it can exert on someone's life. The singer seems to be embracing death and almost welcoming its embrace, finding some sort of comfort or excitement in the idea of being taken by it. This could be seen as a reflection of the human psyche's tendency to romanticize or fetishize things that are dangerous or forbidden, or it could be seen as a commentary on the ways in which people try to deny or repress their mortality.
Another potential interpretation is that the song is a sort of love letter to death, with the singer using romantic imagery and language to build a relationship between themselves and the idea of death. This could be seen as a commentary on the seductive power of death and how people can be drawn in by the allure of something that is ultimately destructive and dangerous.

Damn, Tati. Literally bringing the heat with this one. But I won't lie, the Blazin Hot Sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings definitely packs a big punch of heat. It's really good. FYI, blue cheese really helps to cool it down.
