This is why I never shipped Marrish. I won't ever deny that they had a bond, cause they obviously did through their supernatural abilities. But come on, Lydia was already (though underlying) falling for Stiles when he came into the picture so I'm glad that she and Parrish never went anywhere. (Not to mention that story line was partly him merely having make out fantasies with her. And he was like 6-7 years older...but then again, I'm a Delena shipper from TVD, and Damon in the present day would've been that much older than Elena too, so..)
Well, anyways..after S5 started, I'm glad Jeff Davis focused on Stydia more again.
I get tired of when characters go from person to person all the time. I get that stuff happens in life and yes, Lydia was like that in the beginning, but once she started developing feelings for Stiles (end of S3 +), it was nice that Lydia didn't have anymore love interests that stuck. Cause it ended up showing growth in her character. It's nice when a character only falls for one character and then they eventually become endgame with said character.
Even when Stiles was with Malia, his long term feelings for Lydia were still present. They maybe were set aside a bit, but they never changed. And Lydia was making her attraction and feelings for him known throughout S4,5+6. So even that right there made it clear that they were meant to end up together. It was always gonna be them.
Stiles also wasn't a supernatural, muscular, every day heroic person. He was just a regular human being. So that's another reason why I'm glad Lydia wanted to be with him because she fell in love with him for him; because of his undying, unconditional love for her. Not because he was able to protect her and keep her alive with supernatural abilities. He was there for her no matter what and would never second guess risking/giving his life for her.
So yeah, Stiles and Lydia were meant for each other. ❤

i remember watching this episode and i was crying so hard and wondering why they would do that to me in just the first episode but it's because he was shooting maze runner. props to the creators tho they did a good job writing him off for the season. most shows would say they're visiting family but they managed to not show stiles and still make the show interesting it was awesome
