River Everlost
Wolf Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Twenty years out of reach
Now it′s coming back to me
Still remember
Can't forget all those haunting memories

The echoes ring in my ears
Oh, I can′t resist
By the river she is calling
From the shadows and the mist
I can't help myself from falling
In the river Everlost

Every time I come back
I find my mind is turning blank
I stand frozen, cannot move
She is always in control

By the river she is calling
From the shadows and the mist
I can't help myself from falling
In the river Everlost
By the river
She′s calling me
I can hear her

Oh, she′s calling, calling
I'm never to return

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Wolf's song "River Everlost" speak of a haunting and emotional experience that the singer is having. The first verse begins by stating that something from twenty years ago is coming back to them. This could be a memory or a person that they haven't seen in twenty years. Regardless of what it is, it is causing the singer to remember and be unable to forget the "haunting memories" associated with it. The following verses describe how the echoes of the memory continue to ring in the singer's ears and how they cannot resist the pull towards the river where the memory is calling to them.

The chorus is where the emotional weight of the song really hits. The singer is describing how they can't help but fall into the river Everlost when they hear the call. This could signify a few things - the river could be a metaphor for the memory that is pulling the singer in, or it could be an actual river that holds significance to them. In any case, the singer is clearly struggling to resist the pull, and is feeling out of control. They describe how every time they return to the river, their mind turns blank and they freeze - unable to move. Throughout it all, the memory or person at the heart of the song seems to be in control of the singer, who acknowledges that they are never to return.

Overall, the lyrics of "River Everlost" speak to the power of memory and how it can continue to haunt and control us long after the original event has passed. The imagery of the river as a force that cannot be resisted is powerful, and the emotion that the singer feels seeps through strongly in the language and repetition of the chorus.

Ésta canción está super chingona, no entiendo porqué no hacen más cosas como esta, el Ravenous o el The Black Flame y menos como el Legions of Bastards o el Feeding the Machine

Albums are Forced Entry, Lightbringer, Death and Svbversvm, in order of release. My favorite albums are Lightbringer and Svbversvm (great songs to start with would be Lightbringer, Suomussalmi and Blood God of the Lightbringer album and Eyes Of The Night, Enslaver and Svbversvm of the Svbversvm album).

You know I type in Ram and i get a bunch of unrelated stuff, Dodge Ram trucks, the animal , rap songs.
so give me a name of one of their songs so i can include it in the search to narrow my results

Also, when we are talking about consistent, new Heavy Metal bands, check out RAM if you haven't already. Not as prolific but equally impressive.
