You Said The Words
Wood Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You said the words
And I felt myself begin to fall
And I saw the road ahead with moonlight at all
And baby, baby, babe

And I won't be home for tea
Don't suppose you wanna see
You said the words
I felt the feeling in my heart
And I saw my world just fall apart
Baby, baby, babe

And I won't be home for tea
Don't suppose you wanna see

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Wood's song "You Said The Words" tells the story of someone who is falling in love with another person after they said the words that made their heart skip a beat. The singer describes seeing the road ahead with moonlight at all, which suggests that they are looking towards a bright future with this person. However, they also note that they won't be home for tea and don't suppose the other person wants to see them. This could indicate that there are some obstacles or complications in their relationship that they are aware of, but are choosing to ignore for now.

The repeating phrase "baby, baby, babe" adds to the emotions and vulnerability of the singer as they navigate this newfound love. They also mention feeling the feeling in their heart, which suggests that the attraction is not just physical, but emotional as well. The line "I saw my world just fall apart" introduces a darker tone, which could suggest that things will not be easy for the singer and their new love interest, and there may be consequences to their actions.

Overall, "You Said The Words" is a passionate and intense love song that shows the ups and downs of falling in love with someone.

Watch out.
You shouldn't write it.
Lovers of Jesus will call You stupid and friend of Satan.

For sure they will call You like this.

I will not.
Because i see logic in this quote.

Keep promoting logic.
People need logic, not being intelectual lazy.

I've been searching for this song for years, I was 12 when i first heard it on the radio in some supermarket. Then I heard it when I was 14 visiting my home country and recorded it with my 3DS since my phone was dead and I searched it up on YouTube in the internet cafe in my home country and the connection timed out. Then my 3DS broke down before I could remember what the song was. I thought it was "don't think I could forgive you" at the time. And now I'm 18 and I just found this song in my recommended and I am sorta happy to be reunited with this song. I just don't like how the music sounds good while the lyrics are dark.

@Unreal 4 Good yoooo toke me like 1 year to find this song, the beat will forever be in my head but not the lyrics , but is it just me that my brain is changing into actually listening to the lyrics and find them deep or I never paid attention to the lyrics and thought there were just love songs (in my childhood)

Loved this song for years. The message is loud and clear but yet no one will do anything to change our world.
