It's Going Down
X-Ecutioners Mike Shinoda Mr. Hahn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Wa-wa-watch them flee, hip-hop heads
"And you do it like this"
(It's goin' down) it's goin' down
(It's goin' down) it's goin' down
(It's goin' down) it's goin' down
(It's goin' down)
It's goin' down
The rhythm projects 'round the next sound
Reflects the complex hybrid dialect now
Detect the mesh of many elements compressed down
The meltin' pot of a super-futuresque style
The combination of a vocal caress
With lungs that gasp for breath from emotional stress
With special effects and a distorted collage
Carefully lodged between beats of rhythmic barrage
It's goin' down
A logical progression on the timeline
The separation narrowed down to a fine line
To blur the edges so they blend together properly
Take you on an audible odyssey, now
It's goin' down
A logical progression on the timeline
The separation narrowed down to a fine line
To blur the edges so they blend together properly
Take you on an audible odyssey, now
It's goin' down, put it out for the world to see
LP and X-Men to the 10th degree
(It's goin' down) nobody in the world is safe
When we melt down the wax in your record crate
(It's goin' down) put it out for the world to see
LP and X-Men to the 10th degree
(It's goin' down) nobody in the world is safe
When we melt down the wax in your record crate
(It's goin' down)
"Put it on"
"I said it goes like this"
"And you do it like this"
It's goin' down
Once again it is
Composed sentences all together venomous
The four elements of natural force
Projected daily through the sound of the source
Everybody on board as we blend the sword with the pen
The mightiest of weapons swingin' right from the chin
The elevate of mental states long gone with the wind
To defend men for shoddy imitation pretends
It's goin' down
Style assimilation, readily
Trekkin' through the weaponry of a pure pedigree
Cleverly seein' through whatever is ahead of me
Whatever the weather be, we're advancin' steadily
It's goin' down to sub-terrestrial hot
I rhyme regiment that's callin' the shots
Execution of collaborative plots
Ready to bring the separation of style to a stop
It's goin' down
A logical progression on the timeline
The separation narrowed down to a fine line
To blur the edges so they blend together properly
Take you on an audible odyssey, now
It's goin' down, put it out for the world to see
LP and X-Men to the 10th degree
(It's goin' down) nobody in the world is safe
When we melt down the wax in your record crate
(It's goin' down) put it out for the world to see
LP and X-Men to the 10th degree
(It's goin' down) nobody in the world is safe
When we melt down the wax in your record crate
"X-men 'bout to blast off world wide"
"X-men 'bout to blast off world wide"
"And you do it like this"
"'Bout to blast off world wide"
It's goin' down, put it out for the world to see
LP and X-Men to the 10th degree
(It's goin' down) nobody in the world is safe
When we melt down the wax in your record crate
(It's goin' down) put it out for the world to see
LP and X-Men to the 10th degree
(It's goin' down) nobody in the world is safe
When we melt down the wax in your record crate
(It's goin' down) it's goin' down
(It's goin' down) it's goin' down
(It's goin' down) it's goin' down
(It's goin' down)
(It's goin' down)
"Put it on, and it goes like this"
(It's goin' down)
"And you do it like this"
(It's goin' down)
"So put it on, and it goes like this"
(It's goin' down)
"And you do it like this"
"Like this"

The song "It's Going Down" by X-ecutioners featuring Mike Shinoda and Mr. Hahn of Linkin Park is a rap/hip-hop track that showcases a melting pot of different musical elements compressed into one style. In the first verse, the singer knows that they are being threatened and wonders if it's worth holding out. The scratches in between the verses add to the intensity of the song and create a sense of urgency. The chorus features the scratches "put it up" and "like this," showing the listener how to do the dance moves that go along with the song.
The second verse describes the four elements of natural force that are projected daily through the sound of the source. It's a tribute to the power of music and how it brings people together. The rapper uses clever wordplay to convey the idea that the mightiest weapon is a combination of intelligence and creativity. The outro features scratches of "X-men 'bout to blast of world wide" and "request only," which highlights how popular the song is and how much demand there is for it.
The song's lyrics are designed to evoke a sense of power and excitement in the listener. The scratches add to the intensity and create a sense of urgency. The combination of different musical styles shows how diverse hip-hop music can be. The song ultimately promotes the idea of unity and working together to create something great.

rip Roc Raida, he's the second dj from the right, he's the founder of the band. he died in 2009.
@aaronmcentee3694
So many DJs have died over the last 3 years I can't think of all of them off the top of my head but Dj spinbad and Kay Slay the street sweeper are two that come to mind. Hip hop artists of any kind over the last 3 years. I'm wondering if the CIA gave DMX some covid laced crack cocaine. Wait, that's not what DMX was talking about when he said "X is gonna give it to ya" right? Preposterous that he would die from covid. That's like saying: N,o RZA didn't have anything to do with Old dirty's death
