With a thousand million questions about hate and death and war?
Why do we never get an answer when we're knocking at your door
With a thousand million questions about hate and death and war?
'cause when you stop and think about it, there is nothing that we need
In a world of persecution, when it's burning up with greed
With a thousand million questions about hate and death and war?
'cause when you stop and think about it, there is nothing that we need
In a world of persecution, when it's burning up with greed
The lyrics to Youth Brigade's song "Questions" express frustration with a lack of answers to the big questions that plague society. With lines like "Why do we never get an answer when we're knocking at your door/With a thousand million questions about hate and death and war?" the band is pleading for someone to step up and take responsibility for the state of the world. The repetition of this line emphasizes this point and highlights the feeling of a lack of agency in being able to effect change.
The second verse expands on this feeling of helplessness, questioning why the world is so consumed by persecution and greed. The underlying message is a call to action, to do something to change the status quo. Overall, the lyrics of "Questions" express frustration with the state of the world and a desire for answers and action.
