.... the problem with some academic fields is that there are no career foot holds and ledges.... lets envision a career like a mountain... like everest or K2.... you climb from the bottom... you start at base camp (thats uni, college or some NVQ/GNVQ qualification) .... then depending on the chosen career there are a number of ledges going all the way up to the top job.. the summit. Well.... some careers, such as IT, Accounts, Programming... they have many many ledges and camps all the way up the mountain... entry roles... training opportunities and chances for advancement. Unforutnatly (and I say this as a phys grad)... the sciences dont... what is a junior scientist? Well, it someone with a PhD who has spent around 7 years in uni... that's the problem with the sciences. If you are very very talented in the subejct.... yes its great ; if you just want to do a degree and get out there.. well, unforutnatly the degree doesn't give you any actual career skills. I mean, it very hard subject.. and it gives useful skills.. but not on the job, job ready skills. I think that needs to change.. students should be studying a range of practical gold dust skills that on exit of that 3-4 yrs degree... or even if they exit ealier.. they come out with something employers will hire them with. Uni needs to be a sound investment from a money point of view... I would want to see each and every year of a degree passed crammed with useful job ready skills... tech skills if its science... and at the end of each year should be a recognised stand alone qualification. A uni must be able to demonstrate that at each step of the way they are helping the student transfer their education into salary later.

My problem with humanities is that it has become too left leaning and politicised.

There is much diversity between human beings. The people who we send into space are much more disciplined, intelligent, knowledgeable, stable, reliable, etc., than your average human on earth. So that’s a good thing for us.
Secondly, advanced aliens will be far more concerned with other advanced aliens. There is a good chance there is some galactic organization that acts as a bridge between the various alien groups of the galaxy.

An invasion is too Capitalistic or blockbuster, an unnecessary number of soilders, weapons and vehicles. Too much attention.

If I were an alien commander interested in Earth, I would prefer to have a small force infiltrate the planet, get the craziest human candidates elected as world leaders, and make sure they wage war on each other due to preexisting problems (race, gender, ideologies, etc).

That way I can go in with a single battleship worth of crew and take care of the few humans left, then go back to my homeworld and tell them humans were going to kill themselves off anyway given issues, but now we have this resourceful planet...

TO WHOMEVER IT MAY CONCERN: Whoa! December 21st came & went, and nothing happened! I didn’t run into Jesus, or if I did, I didn’t recognize Him! All the pics we have of him aren’t from “life”! They’re all just drawings or paintings! I don’t know what he’d really looks like!! But, wasn’t He going to come with trumpets blowing, riding on a horse? And all the Evangelicals would drop their clothes and zip up to Heaven, if I’m not mistaken. And THAT didn’t happen! So...was there an alien invasion? I saw nothing, not even a UFO, much less an alien figure, and nobody else did either, bc it would be all on all the news channels if this had happened anywhere in the entire world! And it’s been 20 days since Dec 21 today, so by now the aliens would probably be all over, in person, making friends with everyone! If there are some here fighting over power, they and their ships and weapons and ammunition are ALL invisible and can’t hurt us, so it doesn’t matter. If it’s a “staged” invasion put on by some govt, maybe ours, then Steven Greer will know they aren’t real, bc he’s been predicting this for years, and he’s READY! None of that happened, so you got your date wrong AGAIN, for like, the MILLIONTH time, so I suggest you quit listening to whoever keeps telling you guys these phony dates and fantastic future events! They NEVER happen and then you’re all stuck with eggs on your assorted faces and nothing to say!!! Sooooo PLEASE QUIT IT!!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! No more predictions about any dates or stuff that’s going to happen in the future! Thank you.
