bark dog Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Don't you talk to her like that
Don't you get what you get
Don't get upset
Never been good at keeping time
Never been good at keeping you alive
I'm just trying to figure it out
In these lyrics, the songwriter is addressing someone and discouraging them from certain behaviors. The first line, "Don't you hit it with a bat," can be interpreted metaphorically. It could be a plea to avoid violently or aggressively approaching a situation or a person. It serves as a reminder to handle things with care and sensitivity.
The second line, "Don't you talk to her like that," implies that the person being addressed is engaging in disrespectful or harmful communication. The songwriter is disapproving of this behavior and emphasizing the importance of treating others with kindness and respect. It urges the individual to rethink their approach and find more constructive ways to express themselves.
The next line, "Don't you get what you get," suggests that the consequences of one's actions are not always favorable or justified. It cautions against expecting positive outcomes from negative behavior or making unwise decisions. It highlights the notion of accountability and urges the person to consider the potential repercussions of their actions.
The final line, "Don't get upset," implies that the songwriter is recognizing the possibility of the person's frustration or dissatisfaction with their current situation. However, it suggests that dwelling on negative emotions or getting worked up may not be helpful in finding solutions or moving forward. It encourages them to find a way to remain calm and composed while facing challenges.
In the following lines, where the songwriter admits, "Never been good at keeping time, never been good at keeping you alive, I'm just trying to figure it out," there is a sense of vulnerability and self-awareness. The songwriter is acknowledging personal shortcomings, perhaps in terms of being unreliable or inadequate in certain areas. They express a desire to learn, grow, and navigate their way through life's complexities, ultimately trying to understand themselves and their role in the world.
Overall, these lyrics from Bark Dog's song "Don't" advocate for a more considerate and conscientious approach to interpersonal interactions and decision-making, while also embracing personal growth and self-reflection.

I understand your situation.
Having a dog that doesn't bark excessively can be beneficial in this case as it will reduce the likelihood of your landlord finding out about your pet.
However, it's important to note that it is not possible to completely eliminate barking in dogs, as barking is a natural behavior for them.
Some breeds are known to bark less than others, for example, Basenji, Shiba Inu, and Afghan Hound.
But even these breeds may bark in certain situations such as when they are excited, anxious or stressed, or when they sense a potential threat.
It's also important to remember that while a dog that doesn't bark excessively may be less likely to attract attention, it's important to follow your lease agreements and regulations regarding pets.
It would be best to have a conversation with your landlord to understand their policies and see if there's any way to come to an agreement.

My husband had a little dog that came from a poodle and Chihuahua litter. When we got married, first thing I noticed was Woody did not bark. Husband said he got him when was a puppy and he did not bark until he was one year old. He lived to 17. We loved him so much. 14:38

It sounds like Woody was a very special dog, and it's clear that he was very loved by both you and your husband. I think it's fascinating how each dog has their own unique personality, quirks, and traits. It's also amazing how they can become such a big part of our lives and families. I'm sure Woody brought you both a lot of joy over the years, and I'm sorry for your loss. 🐾

I had an Akita and he only barked once a year. He didn’t care about other dogs barking at him and didn’t haul when fire engines passed by.

I have found that the Blue Heelers I have owned usually only bark when there is a perceived threat to his family. They are great guard dogs who don’t bark at nothing.
