"I came from a very rough place and tough times were all we knew. When I was 9, my dad gave me a guitar and I would spend hours in my room listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Albert King, I copied every note, then worked to develop my own style. Music helped me stay away from the bad choices some of my friends were making, if you know what I mean".
When just a teen he began playing with Warrant, working with Paul Shaffer, Nickelodeon, Letterman and stealing the show at blues festivals all over Southern California.
Ben is now one of the faces of Guitar Center's Laguna Guitar line. Recently he was the centerfold of the Guitar Center December catalog that is delivered to over 1 million households.

The lyrics of "It Ain't Me" by benrobinsonband tell the story of someone who is infatuated with another person and will do anything to get their attention. The opening lines, "Finjo ser invisível/ Pra não ter que te encarar" (I pretend to be invisible/ So I don't have to look at you), suggest that the singer is too nervous or intimidated to directly interact with the person they desire. The chorus repeats the simple yet powerful desire of the singer to just play with and be close to the person they desire, "Eu só quero brincar com você" (I just want to play with you). The bridge acknowledges that the singer may not be perfect, "Não me despreze/ Eu sou pior que você" (Don't reject me/ I'm worse than you), but still expresses their innocent desire to just have fun, "Não tenha medo/ Eu só quero brincar" (Don't be afraid/ I just want to play).
Overall, "It Ain't Me" is a catchy and relatable song about unrequited love and the awkwardness that often comes with it. The singer's vulnerability and sincerity in expressing their feelings is both endearing and heartbreaking.
