During the winter of 2009, Come Wind recorded their debut EP at Red Red Studios in Nashville, TN. Engineered and produced by Joshua Silverberg (formerly of Edison Glass), this handful of songs is slated to be released in the early summer of 2010. Come Wind are pretty jazzed about the EP, and are determined to promote it from every mountaintop they can climb to and in every valley they can crawl through.
Even in the midst of their 'fledgling' status, Come Wind have ample experience with the incredible joy and goodness that music can bring. Truly, there is within music something both vitally human and vitally Other, an experiencing through string and rhthym and voice and song of Presence and holiness. It is this intimate, dynamic experience of both music and the Presence of I AM that Come Wind hopes to share with its listeners. All four members know themslves to have been so blessed; as a result, they desire nothing more intensely than to share this blessing with others.
Understandably, the band is excited and anxiously anticipatory about their future. Come Wind has successfully saddled the ol' music-beast, and it is with true vigor that they must now hold on for their dear lives. No matter which path their adventure takes them on, the members of Come Wind remain confident that the Spirit of God will guide them to exactly where they should be.
Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

Cease to Be

People've been telling me
"Son, one day you'll learn"
"Son, one day you'll learn"
But I could never cease to be
A poor cowardice thief
Stealing breaths that you gave me
To grow my skin
And since I was born
Death has been chasing me
Saying: "Son, one day we'll meet"
"Son, one day we'll meet"
And he will never cease to grow
And through my blood he flows
Like a train, he never slows
Until we meet
Oh, oh, oh
Since then I've learned
His grace is enough for me
It washes clean my blood
And in it places love
My God you are everything to me
And your love is all I need
Hold me close and never cease
To be my king
Only Love,
Only love,
Only love
Will fill my cup
Death, don't call me son.
I left your blood in the woods that day
Go beneath the earth
Your roots don't hold me anymoreOh his Love,
Oh his Love,
Oh his Love
It fills me up
Oh his Love (Oh my God you are so good)
Oh his Love (Fill me with your grace and love)
Oh his Love
It fills me up
The song "Cease to Be" by Come Wind conveys a message of redemption and forgiveness through its lyrics. The first verse discusses how the singer has always been warned of learning the hard way, yet he cannot seem to stop stealing from others to grow his own skin. He feels like a poor cowardly thief, and death has been chasing him since birth, never slowing down its approach. In the second verse, the tone shifts as the singer describes how he learned that grace is enough to wash his blood clean, and he is filled with love. He declares his devotion to God, stating that God's love is all he needs and asking him to be his king forever.
The use of repetition in the song, both in the verses and the chorus, emphasizes the themes of the song. The repetition of the phrase "one day you'll learn" shows that the singer has been warned about his behavior for a long time but cannot change it until he learns to trust and accept God's grace. The repetition of the phrase "Oh his love" throughout the chorus reinforces the idea that love is the only thing that can fill the void the singer has been trying to fill with stealing from others and running from death.
Overall, "Cease to Be" is a song that speaks to the human desire for redemption and forgiveness. It captures the struggles of a person who realizes the error of their ways and seeks to find meaning in a higher power. The repetition of key phrases throughout the song adds to its emotional impact, reinforcing the idea that change can be difficult but is ultimately possible with the help of love and faith.
