I Feel Good
dB's The Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It felt good, you walked into the room
Oh, saying nothing, you walked into the room
It felt bad just to hear you say
I feel good, good today

Vividly, you and the lipstick blur
Lawn soiree, crashing the Thunderbird
It felt bad to try to pretend
I feel good, good again

Running jumping in the air
Running jumping everywhere
Lazy bones laissez affaire
Regel 'round the singles blare
All of us may be confused
But is that bad (I won't say)
Maybe we should (I can't say)
I feel good
I feel good

Running scared, out of a long, cold sweat
We were running scared, out of a long, cold sweat
It felt bad, lost on the parkway
I feel good, good today

Running jumping in the air
Running jumping everywhere
Lazy bones laissez affaire
Regel 'round the singles blare
All of us may be confused
But is that bad (I won't say)
Maybe we should (I can't say)
I feel good
I feel good, good, good

It felt good, you walked into the room
Oh, saying nothing, I walked out of that room
It felt bad in my disarray
I feel good, good today
I feel good, good today

I feel good, good today
I feel good, good today

Overall Meaning

The dB's song "I Feel Good" is a bittersweet indie pop tune that explores the complexities of emotions and relationships. The lyrics describe the joy and excitement of being with someone, but also the pain and confusion of losing them. The opening verse sets the scene, as the singer describes the feeling of seeing someone they care about walk into a room. The use of the past tense suggests that this person is no longer part of their life, and the contrast between the singer's positive feelings and the other person's negative ones ("I feel good, good today") hints at some kind of conflict or disconnect.

The second verse goes deeper into the singer's memories of this person, describing a party they attended together and contrasting the sense of belonging and excitement with the attempt to hide their true feelings ("It felt bad to try to pretend / I feel good, good again"). The chorus provides a catchy, upbeat refrain that underscores the ambiguity of the emotions being expressed: "Running jumping in the air / Running jumping everywhere / Lazy bones laissez affaire / Regel 'round the singles blare / All of us may be confused / But is that bad (I won't say) / Maybe we should (I can't say) / I feel good." The mix of carefree hedonism and self-doubt reflects the push and pull of the relationship between the two people.

The final verse adds a new layer of complexity to the song, as the singer describes the aftermath of this encounter. They walk out of the room feeling bad, in disarray, suggesting that whatever connection they had with this person is now broken. However, they still declare that they feel good, perhaps because they have come to some kind of acceptance or resolution. Overall, "I Feel Good" is a subtle, introspective song that captures the messy, uncertain nature of human emotions.

It's even more hilarious since he actually chants in the original series.

Only this time you have condescending Nail to add some comic relief.

zaradoth

Not in the "original series" but in the old funimation dub
That dub mistranslated and changed a lot of things like the way "saiyan" should be pronounced in english or goku's entire character

n9ne-_-ball

I'm pretty sure they used the original sound from the dub for that clip I just watched the episode and it brought me here sounds exactly the same lol

One of the greatest things TFS ever did was to keep Nail, and later Kami, around instead of fading away into his subconscious.

Citrusbird386

But they never did fade away. In Super we see that Nail and Kami are still with Piccolo.

@Citrusbird386 what is TFS ?

@The Batman Team Four Star, they're the people that used to make Dragon Ball Z Abridged
