This is my favorite map of all time so I am gonna make time stamps for all the funny epic parts. Yes I know there are a lot lol.
0:03 First button pressed if you haven't pressed it yet you are dead.

Story to how Shutdown Began (WARNING: Very Long God dam lore.)
[Prologue]
Once upon a time, there were crew members and workers engineering stuff in the facility, everything was normal, cranes lifting up boxes, vehicles delivering tubes to other rooms' needs and it was an average day until something went extremely wrong. there was a reactor overheating rapidly. The lava started to flow in the facility, the pipes started to catch in flames, and everyone evacuated except for one person stuck in the safe room where the lava was about to fill in. So as it was filling in he got out and almost closed it shut letting the lava spill out, then the pipe next to him exploded knocking him out for minutes. Then after he woke up there was an alarm and a lot of lava filling in and the temperature started building rapidly, the room started to get extremely hot making him sweaty as hell and the lava started to rise slowly and there were 3 emergency buttons in the room.
Chapter 1: [Finding a way out of the first room]
The first door had to rapidly close shut due to the lava coming to fill in the room extremely fast as the pipes above started to weaken as the lava starts spilling even more to make the lava rise faster. So he climbed up and pressed the first button but the platform he was standing on collapsed and he almost fell jumping in time and hopping back down to reach for the second door. The second door opened letting him access the second button. As he jumped off the edge back down pressing the second button with his pinky the glass door slowly slide open letting him access to reach the top to press the third button. And he saw the gap filled with lava to where he had to jump over them. After he jumped over the lava the huge pipe has a massive flame coming out blocking his way into the acid electrical room so he pressed the 3rd button to extinguish the massive flame and the vent came to lose. As he was running towards the room the pipe finally exploded and the lava poured massively and the lava rises rapidly flooding the whole room he made it in time as the door behind him slide shut as the lava fills in.
Chapter 2: [Through the vents]
The room was cramped and the lava-filled the other room on the other side of the glass as it gets more intense then the floors cracked critically and the acid started to fill in so he quickly pressed the fourth button and there was a massive pounding that happened twice and the door behind him slide shut and he was able to press the fifth button exploded the top vent open and the floors collapsed allowing the acid filling in the room rapidly as he swim-up quickly as his lungs were hurting bad then he finally reached to the opening vent area accessing to the main Tower as the glass in the electrical room shattered allowing the lava to fill in and the vent door slides shut.
Chapter 3: [The Main Tower]
The Tower temperature was so hot his shoes started to melt a bit as there was lava below him. He saw an elevator but tried to open it, the lava-filled in and he almost closed the elevator shut as the lava spills out it wouldn't hold long so he pressed the sixth button hearing an alarm sound warning and there was a massive explosion and the elevator exploded open filling the lava in and the lava started to rise rapidly. So the ladder slides out of the wall in case of an emergency and he quickly climbed up and did obstacles as the lava reached closer and gets hotter then there was a seventh button to extinguish another massive flame as it was blocking him so he pressed it and the lava got even closer so he sprinted really hard the lava touching his shoes a bit. He climbs onto the platform then there was a trap door and boxes that were caught with flames blocking him from going and he saw the eighth button attached to the platform, he pressed the button allowing the trap door to release the burning boxes, dropping them as he hops over the gap as the lava starts to slow down then the facility started to shake intensely as everything was getting "Shutdown" by lava.
Chapter 4: [No time to waste]
He manages to climb out of the tower to the long hallway, seeing one side of the glass room exploded and flames spreading out of it and the door closes on both sides. He couldn't go through those exits since they're closed off for safety hazard reasons, so he notices a freezer room at the end of the hallway and hesitates going inside of it due to multiple frost bite and hyperthermia incidents. But he has no choice because he doesn't wanna die from the lava, and the lava is about to reach him sooner or later. So he sprints towards the freezer but when he looks behind the door slides shut as the lava flooded the tower RAPIDLY which bought the engineer small extra time. But the door couldn't hold too much pressure of the lava. Hence, the door collapses and the lava started to flow toward the opening area which is the freezer at the speed slightly faster than human sprint level. As the engineer enters the freezer, it was VERY cold, and the engineer ended up getting frost bites because it was -54 degrees Fahrenheit in there; the engineer sees the ninth button as an emergency door button, he climbed the slippery ladder reaching the platform and jumping through obstacles to the other side of the platform then pressed the button allowing the door to open fast, as he is jumping back down to reach the door, he looks behind and the lava flowed into the freezer which made him sprint out of there as fast as he can then the lava wall stopped and the door slowly closes as the other side of the door was shut already.
Chapter 5: [Getting out of here]
He sees the final emergency button allowing the platform above to the right side of the door slide out of the wall allowing him to climb his way up to the lift. The engineer hears a system saying it is shutting itself down due to how critical the facility state is in, as he was reaching to the platform, he looked down and the lava started to rise a lot faster. So he jumped his way up as the lava starts to get faster and faster. He encountered long jumps and was hanging onto the platform for his dear life as he almost fell off and climbed back up. He encountered tiny platforms as the lava gets closer and jumped on them almost tilting off the edge, the long pole half snapped open as he was jumping over then jumped for his dear life trying to reach for the lift as the lava slightly touched his shoes again. He reached the lift and was lifted up safely as the lava continues to rise up so the door below him starting to close, stopping the lava from flowing in.
Chapter 6: [The aftermath]
So he jumped out of the lift onto the door and found the glass and breaks them, then he broke free as the rescue teams and helicopter with all the crew members came to help him as he explained the whole issue and showed them the video he recorded on his hand while running of what happened to the facility. one of the crew members explained how it happened he said: "I think one of the crew members ran into the electrical room where the reactor is and lighted it on fire and sabotaged the pressure in the pipes on purpose!". As everyone sprinted away from the burning facility, the whole facility exploded killing 6 crew members due to lightning them on fire and having first-degree burns, then a bunch of militaries, ambulances, helicopters, and news reporters arrived at the scene. And that's how the Shutdown map was created.
