madrigali magri Lyrics

Al canto di un'alba dal fondo del mare
Sono qui per stancarmi
Spendermi consumarmi
Cancellarmi così
Ad occhi chiusi
The lyrics to Madrigali Magri's song "Borderline" seem to be a reflection on the passage of time and the role it plays in our lives. The opening line of the song, "Ringrazio il tempo che ci fa passare," which translates to "I thank time for making us pass," suggests a sense of gratitude towards the inevitable passing of time that shapes and moulds us. This idea is reinforced by the line "Al canto di un'alba dal fondo del mare" which can be translated to "to the song of a dawn from the depths of the sea," invoking the powerful imagery of a new day and the idea of being reborn and renewed with the passing of each new day.
The second part of the song seems to shift focus onto the personal struggles that we all face in life, with the singer proclaiming "Sono qui per stancarmi / Spendermi, consumarmi." This can be translated to "I'm here to tire myself out / To spend myself, consume myself." This can be interpreted as a reflection on our own mortality and the limited time that we have in this world, with the singer essentially saying that they want to live life to the fullest, even if it means burning out in the process. The final line, "Ad occhi chiusi," which means "with closed eyes," could be either interpreted as giving up or as a symbolic gesture towards letting go and embracing whatever comes next.
