Excellent narrator for an excellent book. James Patterson has always been and will always be unbeatable. What I have always liked about his books are the short chapters. Makes it so much more "handleable". Remember the first books I read of his was the Alex Cross novels and i was hooked from the start

Excellent, a 10/10. One of my top 5 favorites so far (out of 20 James Patterson novels). Only mistakes: Marines never refer to a Marine veteran as an ex-Marine (unless it's Harvey Oswald or Charles Whitman)...proper term is former or prior service Marine.
Virtually all recruits west of the Mississippi go to MCRD/Camp Pendleton, not Le Jeune.
And voila is pronounced woila, as if v was a w. Otherwise great story, narration, characters.

Hmmm ok so towards the end when the ghost/matthew and his 4 friends lay in wait , Matthew gets his ass kicked… where was the other guy inside the apt? He only appears after Matthew gets slammed down? So many situations in this book are terribly unbelievable. It became too goofy for me.

This must have been James Patterson first ever book. Because these characters 🤢! There is no depth, and no character development. I was rooting for all of them to get rid of each other. From protagonist (if you want to call a thief and murderer that) to the insipid love interest to the antagonist…it’s all dribble. Read his other books unless you just want something to fall asleep to

Pretty good read, but there are better thriller writers out there. Had to skip the romance stuff in this one - it was far too repetitive and cringe. Action scenes were excellent, though.
