In 2006 misono debuted as solo artist at Velfarre, a popular dance club owned by Avex. Her first single VS was released on 29th March, 2006 and was used as the theme song for Namco Bandai's Tale of the Tempest. In total, misono has released eleven singles and two albums as a solo artist. Most of her singles were used as theme songs for various J-dramas, games and movies (e.g. 二人三脚 for Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World).
倖田來未 (Kōda Kumi) is misono's elder sister, who has collaborated with her some times before. Both sisters collaborated in 2009 under the name 倖田來未×misono for Koda's forty-third single "It's All Love!", which was released on March 4, 2009.

The lyrics of misono's song 11 eleven speak about love and uncertainty. The song begins with the singer asking her lover to tell her if he loves her or not because she can see through his pretending that everything is okay. The lover comes off as indecisive in relationships, and yet, even the kisses he gives her on a whim make her love him more. She feels like he has control over her and is afraid of getting hurt again. Even though she tries to seem tough and like she's used to crying herself to sleep, the pain is still real.
The singer then goes on to say that she doesn't want to be the convenient woman in his life, especially if she'll always be in second place. She wants to be loved sincerely, and the sudden moments where he hugs her show her that there is still comfort and happiness in their relationship. The singer ends the song by saying that she knows everything about her lover and yet still can't predict his feelings. She asks him to tell her just one thing, how he feels about her, without her having to try and guess.
Overall, the song is a bittersweet expression of love and the pain of being uncertain in a relationship.
