Blurring the lines of distinction between sassy and spiritual, they forged their name, sound, and mission statement right in front of their fan base, rather than in the confines of a boardroom. Within months of coming together as a group, they were headlining concerts and finishing pre-production for their first full-length album with companion DVD. By the winter of 2006, in just five days, the entire tracking session for their debut CD/DVD "Roots Revolution" was completed. Striving for a timeless quality, the band recorded together live off the floor, sometimes capturing the essence of a song in just one take.
With their rootsy blend of funk, reggae and old school gospel, Newworldson challenges a culture that venerates American Idol and disposable music in general. Undaunted, these unlikely defenders of soul are gracefully walking the line that fractures people into demographics, with passion and integrity.
Now signed to InPop Records, with their latest album "Salvation Station" released February 2008, NWS enters a new chapter in their lives and their careers. Four sons of the New World and their story has just begun.

Rocky Road
newworldson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's rocky road lined with sticks and stones
It's a road where the thistle grows
And the freeway never goes
But even though this road is long
Everybody's welcome on this rocky raid
Now we're all doing the best we can
And we fall short of heaven's plan
We stumble as we go
But even though we've all done wrong
Everybody's welcome on this rocky road
We're casting stones even though we're all sinners
Pointing fingers and calling out names
But on the rocky road there ain't no one among us
Without blame
On the rocky road
How can i, with this log in my eye,
Count your spots and scars?
Why should i even try to put you behind bars?
I need your love to carry on
We've got to help each other along this rocky road
The lyrics to Newworldson's song "Rocky Road" are a commentary on the human experience of struggling and falling short of perfection. The song speaks to the idea that everyone is welcome on this rocky and difficult road of life, even though we all make mistakes and have scars. The opening lines describe the road as being rocky and lined with sticks and stones, where thistles grow and the freeway never goes. This is a metaphor for life and how it's often full of obstacles and challenges that we must navigate on our own.
The chorus speaks to the idea of accepting ourselves and others for who we are, imperfections and all. We're all doing the best we can, but we still fall short of heaven's plan. We stumble along the way, but even though we've all done wrong, everyone is still welcome on this rocky road. The second verse speaks to the phenomenon of projecting our own shortcomings onto others by casting stones and pointing fingers. However, the song reminds us that there is no one among us without blame on this rocky road.
The lyrics also highlight the power of love and community to help us navigate this difficult road. The bridge states that we need each other's love and support to carry on, and we must help each other along this rocky road. Overall, "Rocky Road" is a hopeful and inclusive anthem that speaks to the human experience of struggle, imperfection, and the importance of community.
