(You motherfuckers get up!) Dungeon, nigga

[Verse One: Billy Danze]
Excuse me, I'm here to earn a mere buck or two
It's Bill Diggy niggy, who the fuck are you?
Nigga where yo' soldiers at? Dem vultures you ride with?
The niggaz you coincide with, you don't wanna collide with
(M!) Exclude them, they already know the name
They already know the game, they already know we flame
{FI-YAHHHHHHH} It's tricky, they put 'em in boots
And camoflauge suits, and they still can't get wit me
I'm wicked, look at the way I rip it
I'm off-balance, I'm mentally challenged, but I'm gifted
(IT'S ON YOU!) You know how we do
I'll get at yo' crew, with a little twenty-two (hahahahaHA!)
The question is - where the fuck it came from?
Why the fuck you banged him, and who the fuck untamed him?
And why can't they restrain him?
There's somethin goin on with this kid
Look in his eyes, he's angry and straight spittin

[Chorus: M.O.P.]
{FI-YAHHHHHHH} Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Nigga

[Danze] Yo, let's go!

[Verse Two: Lil' Fame]
I have the mind, of a sick psychiatric
{?} perish, with my tactic
Terminate, act hell, I bust brain cells
I'm international, my name rings bells
So take the battle on the beach homeboy, this is a war
Live nigga rap, straight from the Bricks, we got the raw
Fuck a watered down rapper on your hot five at four
We live from the crackhouse, push your money through the door
This is {FI-YAHHHHHHH} we give a fuck about your rag
You motherfuckers made New York look bad
With all you gangsta-ass, Michael, gorillas recognize my M.O.
Or bitch come see me, and Fizzy Wo'
Nigga sixteen bars'll get you caught up - this ain't Mickey D's
But fuck around, and I'll suicide your order
Pop shit I'm poppin hollows in you niggaz 'tinue to serve
When the Desert burn whoever's left on the menu
First Fam', we don't start wars with you, but my dogs will
Lock jaw with you, pop pop pop, {?} witchu

So we just spit it back to the hood, motherfucker we spittin

[Chorus: M.O.P.]

What? What? What-what-what-what-what, ow, oh, AOWWWWW

[Verse Three: Billy Danze]
What happened to the M.O. (P!) nigga we make history
You don't know? Then find yo' ass on Unsolved Mystery
When the gun blow (the gun blow rapidly)
It's a twenty-one gun dispute when your troops, come after me
You gotta be a thorough dude my borough rules, live motivators
Fuck a driveby, we walk up, look you in yo' eye and dump

Overall Meaning

The song "On Fire" by M.O.P starts off with the sound of a Firing Squad, and then introduces the group. "Back in the motherfucking dungeon, nigga" emphasizes the group's roots as an underground rap group. The first verse by Billy Danze has him calling out other rappers and their crews, asking them where their soldiers are so they can "collide". The chorus is repetitive and simple, with the group shouting out their hometown "Be-are, O, W-N-S-V, I-L-L-E" while emphasizing their tough nature. Lil' Fame follows with a verse that discusses his global impact as a rapper and his disregard for other artists who have made New York look bad. The bridge highlights the group's history, suggesting they will make history before urging any doubters to check out Unsolved Mysteries. The final verse describes a shootout and proclaims MOP's superiority over other rappers.

I was both a wild-land firefighter and a structural firefighter and believe me fire is unpredictable in the wild-land setting. Wind can move the fire very quickly in any direction. I once saw a fire burn in a complete circle around a hill before the wind made up its mind about which way to really go. Glad to see you stayed in the burned areas too. Also do watch out for the water drops. People have been killed when directly hit by the drop. Also it can crush the top on a small car, at least it did on some guy's Toyota Celica. Stay save. Oh and don't let the name and picture fool you. Sophie Tucker is my 3 yr old corgi pup. I'm 69 and finally retired. Bob

William Sheepskin

Ah that's terrifying Bob! Thanks so much for your service as a firefighter! Very glad we stayed largely away from the drop zones, I think my fear was somewhat baseless as they were dropping a ways away, but it's definitely disconcerting having a gigantic bucket of water fly overhead haha.

Thanks so much for your advice regarding fire as well, the fire on a hill story sounds terrifying! Top two things in life I'm not keen on messing with are fires and the ocean, so staying in the burned areas was a priority that I managed to stick to for the most part - crazy how hot it still is in there even when the fire has burned out. You must've seen some crazy things in your time!

All the best to you and little Sophie!

Sid Miller

I was similarly inspired to take some photos last year during the California wildfires. Even though I was a long way away from them the sky was red for an entire day. Pretty spooky! You did an awesome job capturing the mood and atmosphere of the fires and the emergency, looking forward to part 2.

William Sheepskin

Ooh that sounds awesome Sid! The amount of fires kicking off around the world these days is disconcerting, but they sure do make for some awe-inspiring visuals. Glad that the atmosphere came across too, it really was intense in the moment!

O’Neill on Film

Dude such an important event to document and you both did a fine job of it 👏 that Twin picture is like uncanny in all the chaos. Shinning vibes.

William Sheepskin

Thanks so much Brendon! Literally couldn't believe when we spotted them, so rad and fortunate on a day like that

Almos Kosz

Love how these images just glow! How do you do it? Is the light naturally like that or do you use any haze filters or anything? Great job with the documentation, love the images.

William Sheepskin

Thank you! I think it’s a combination between the smoke and light on the day and my scanner, I use an Imacon and they’re glorious for getting the most out of a neg if you put the time in to work them out haha!

Zach Parks

Good job, man. It's definitely hard to watch such devastation. I'm glad you were out there to catch it, and that you're safe and sound

Zach Parks

@William Sheepskin looking forward to seeing more. It’s an important job to document events like this. Horrible to see, but important nonetheless.
