I turned 65 today, and I’m amazed this ole chick, can still be taught! I have often wondered about those ‘brackets’ thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I have several versions of the Bible, I pray the Lord keeps me teachable!! To God alone be the Glory!! Praise Jesus!!

This is amazing. I have an NLT and a KJV and the KJV has the verse and the NLT doesn't. I have never noticed this in the 25 years I've been a Christian. Thank you for pointing this out to me. We have access to the the Holy Spirit when we are unsure about anything. Praise the Lord!
I did not believe that this aside as a mistake. God will not allow His word to be corrupted. At least not long term. Someone will be sent to correct it. This aside is nice additional information for those who want more understanding. I too have run across a situation where the Holy Spirit told me I could do/say something or not. It did not matter in the outcome. It was a matter of my personal choice. And God allowed this. This aside was probably something similar in the many hundreds of years of people asking the Holy Spirit for guidance in this situation.
