Daddy-O
veronica unlimited Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I wake up in the morning
Outside the day is dawning
I pull the power-switch off we go
The latest information
All across the nation
Everyone's a part of the show
I can try it anywhere
There's crazy music on the air
Every night and day
You're like a shadow on my way

Daddy-o
I'm turning up to my radio
Oh, oh, Daddy-o
Don't stop me now
It's my favourite show
Oh, you won't ever let me down
Pretty music's all around
Daddy-o
Ooh, I'm gonna be free

I don't care what's on T.V.
They got no way to please me
And anyway it's bad for the eyes
I need imagination
No stupid recreation
And not a second-hand kind of high
I wanna hear some rock 'n' roll
No colour T.V. quiz is stereo
That's the way of life
I love until the day I die

Daddy-o
I'm turning up to my radio
Oh, oh, Daddy-o
Don't stop me now
It's my favourite show
Oh, you won't ever let me down
Pretty music's all around
Daddy-o
Ooh, I'm gonna be free

I can try it anywhere
There's crazy music on the air
Every night and day
You're like a shadow on my way

Daddy-o
I'm turning up to my radio
Oh, oh, Daddy-o
Don't stop me now
It's my favourite show
Oh, you won't ever let me down
Pretty music's all around
Daddy-o
Ooh, I'm gonna be free

Repeat last verse and fade.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_TNZIp-80s

odd, Discogs says it's a Dutch project, but in credits it's German writers. Fun Eurodisco, thank you for sharing!

@unexpecteddiscovery6202

A Dutch producer formed the group in Germany and released their songs through a Dutch production company during the 70's (That's why you read about them as a Dutch group.). In 1979, the producer returned to the Netherlands and abandoned the group. Then, a male vocalist of the group founded a new production company with German producers and continued the group in Germany (no longer a Dutch project). Their first German release was "What A Lousy Party" and their following single was "Daddy-O". Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you liked the song :)
