Blazing Haley formed in 1997 is already well on their way to saving rock n' roll. Notorious for their deluxe live show that includes a skull-headed fur-upholstered stand-up bass, rhinestone studded cowboy hats, crazy stage antics, sweat-drenched greasy do's, with huge crowd participation.
Live antics aside, Blazing Haley's songs are what keeps the crowds coming back; fun lyrics about hot-rod culture, road trips, dive bars, and girls backed by a balls-out rhythm section and cool-injected guitars. Though there is a definite rootsy vibe to their music, they don't limit themselves to the retro-shackles of rockabilly revivalism, or the pretense of sub-genres such as psychobilly, like so many of their contemporaries. Instead, they combine these influences with other styles (garage, punk, metal, lounge, etc.) and create their own 'American rock n' roll hybrid' that has spanned various markets and demographics.
Their debut album titled 'Sleeper', self-released in January 1999 (distributed worldwide by Hepcat Records, Amazon, and CDNow, etc.) has received consistent national acclaim. Their songs are also featured on several compilation albums including some European productions, national TV and radio commercials, X-treme sports shows (Blue Torch TV etc.), and have been showcased in a TV pilot episode. Without a national tour under their belt, the great response of letters and sales from across the nation and Europe is even more impressive. In addition to playing regularly all over California.
With the release of their next album "Mas Chingon" Blazing Haley plans to expand the tour this year to more of the country including events such as South by Southwest-TX, and
CMJ tours-East Coast.
