Born in Cambridge and raised in Start Hill, Essex, she began posting songs on Myspace in 2008, which led to her discovery by a promoter who invited her to perform at warehouse raves and parties. In 2010, she signed a recording contract with Asylum Records, releasing a series of singles and mixtapes throughout 2011 and 2012.
Christine and the Queens is the musical project of French singer-songwriter Héloïse Letissier.
Letissier released his debut full-length album as Christine and the Queens, ’Chaleur humaine’, in 2014. An English language version of the album, titled ‘Christine and the Queens’, was released in 2016. His sophomore album ‘Chris’ was released in september 2018 and received universal acclaim. He has also released eight EPs and several singles.
In 2022, Chris announced a stage name, Redcar, and that he uses he/him pronouns.
In 2019, Charli and Christine collaborated on a duet titled “Gone” for Charli XCX’s fourth eponymously titled LP. In 2022, they once again collaborated on Charli’s song “New Shapes” which features Christine and Caroline Polachek. The track appears on her fifth album, ‘CRASH’.
