Born in Livingston in Scotland, she later moved to Rugby in England. She moved to London in 2016 to pursue a career in music, and found a job as a receptionist at Abbey Road Studios, using downtime to record her debut single, โTake It Or Leave Itโ. After signing to 37 Adventures, she began work on what would become her debut mini-album, Seven Scenes From The Same Summer. Released on 27 July 2018, it was preceded by the singles โBitchโ, โCheatโ and โGirlfriend at the Timeโ.
Burns left 37 Adventures in late 2018, releasing the PDA EP independently in June 2019 before signing to Island Records. Following this, she released the My Town EP in November featuring the title track and โIs It Just Me?โ
